Why do nations suffer?

2nd Chronicles 7:12 “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.
13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people,

14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.
16 For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.

17 As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments,
18 then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, ‘You shall not fail to have a man as ruler in Israel.’
19 “But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them,
20 then I will uproot them from My land which I have given them; and this house which I have sanctified for My name I will cast out of My sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
21 “And as for this house, which is exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and this house?’
22 Then they will answer, ‘Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and embraced other gods, and worshiped them and served them; therefore, He has brought all this calamity on them.’”

The Lord spoke to Solomon and said, “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.” (Vs 12) Speaking of the Temple He will build!

When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, (Vs 13)

Sacrifice is what we must do when we have sinned, and this is how we know that we have transgressed against YHWH God our Elohim. When things begin to go against us, and when it seems we are walking into a strong wind.

Just like they are today. And we are living out a time of pestilence, a man-made pestilence. Now is the time for prayer and for sacrifice. We have no temple except for the temple that we are, there is no altar except for what is within us. The Spirit of the risen Christ is our sacrifice, but how are we to know what to do with that if we are not willing to walk according to His way, and His example.

1st John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

He followed after God the Father, according to the instructions that we were all given, the Torah / Law! He honored God’s Sabbath, kept the Passover, as well as the other feast days, and taught the commandments everywhere He went.

Here is our sacrifice, to honor the Messiah of Israel by walking according to the Way, the truth, and the life.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1, 2)

Because our itching ears have led us to believe the false doctrine of the traditional Church, and the preachers and prophets they have brought before us, we are so far away from Abba God now, we must backtrack almost 2000 years and return to Him and His ways.

This is our sacrifice! To come down to our knees and in humility return to the ancient path.

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (Vs 14)

Here is the Temple and the sacrifice must be made!

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. (1st Corinthians 3:16, 17)

Repent simple means to turn away from our sin and turn back to YHWH God. To continue to disregard the Word of God is the path to destruction. Why, if so many others have made this choice, is it so difficult for us to humble ourselves and do as Abba Father wills?

Most of us have a Bible, and even know what it says, but we have chosen to disregard these words.

“You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” (Deuteronomy 4:2)

Here is the promise if we do His will. “Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.
For now, I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.” (Vs 15, 16)

He does not want His people to suffer. Therefore, He must do all that He can to pry us out of the hands of Satan, the Anti-Christ. He will not leave us or forsake us, but will bring both heaven and Earth against us until we turn around, and return from the path of destruction.

What God tells Solomon, is also for His people, and for us.

We have driven this nation into a ditch, and it’s up to us to get it out!

“Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” (Matthew 15:13, 14)

We must turn from our godless ways, putting away our adultery, and Idolatry, or continue to reap the whirlwind of His wrath. It’s not going to get better for us until we do.

Repent now, this very moment, and return to YHWH God.

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever
