Why did He say that? Part 5

Matthew 13:37 “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.
39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.
40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.
41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Yahshua is explaining to His disciples the meaning of the Parable of the sower. And He explains that He will be the sower of the good seed. But the enemy who sows the tares is Satan, or the Anti-Christ.

“The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.” (Vs 38)

Now the stage is set, and the plot revealed. Even though there are those in the Church pretending to be the Son’s and daughters of God, He is aware of them.

“The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.” (Vs 39) So he not only is aware of them, but can identify them. And the angels will gather them, both the Wheat and the Tares. The believer’s and the unbelievers will be harvested together.

“Therefore, as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.” (Vs 40)

Here is a person who is good for nothing, represented by the tares. These who bear no fruit, are to be destroyed by fire.

“The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” (Vs 41, 42)

These are practitioners of lawlessness, they will not learn God’s Law, nor will they keep His commandments. These are the ones who violate God’s Sabbath, who lie, steal, and commit fornication and Adultery. These are the ones who are habitual sinners. Those who mis-quote and twist the Word of God to their own benefit. And this is the fruit of their labors, being burned and destroyed.

Those who are not genuine will be burned, tares even look like wheat, but bear no fruit. They will be separated out and destroyed. And while they are being carried off by the Angels there will be crying and gnashing of teeth. Crying because of their being culled from the Harvest, and gnashing of teeth because they are angry at their fate.

Here we have people who thought that just because they knew the name of Jesus / Yahshua and believed, they were under the impression that they were saved. But what they forgot, was to not only believe, but to follow.

“Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Vs 43)

How many times must we be told that the fruit that we bear dictates our final and eternal destination.

Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?

Lawlessness is the fruit of these wolves who will lead us straight into the furnace in the last days. A righteous Man keeps God’s Commandments, but the unrighteous will refuse to keep them. The practice of violating the Sabbath that God ordained is just a glaring example of our lawlessness.

If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him. (1st John 2:29)

If I were you, I would begin to practice His righteousness as soon as possible!

John 14:23 “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.

  1. I am so grateful for this word. It sobered me, as I thought on the Scripture which states; ” There is a way which seems right to mankind, but that way leads to death. LORD,AS I examine myself; Guide me. In the Mighty name of our Lord Jesis Christ. Amen.
