Why did he say that? Part 10

John 3:14 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
21But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

What does it mean to believe in Christ Y’shua? And how is it that we are saved and granted eternal life. It is imperative that we know and understand these things before He comes.

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
(Vs 14, 15)

Christ Y’shua is the Son of Man. And was He not lifted up? Yes, He was in fact nailed to a tree. And because of thiswe are to believe in Him, and eternal life is the outcome of our believing in Him.

16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (Vs 16)

So here is the verse that everyone knows and loves. How God loves us so much that He sacrificed His own Son for us. But there’s more!

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (Vs 17)

We might be saved. Here He speaks of an opportunity to be saved, not a guarantee, but an option. So, while there’s an opportunity, it must be seized in order to benefit us, spiritually.

He clarifies by saying, 18“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
(Vs 18, 19)

So here is the dividing point. There are those who will not believe, so they are condemned already, because they cannot receive the benefit of His sacrifice. They are unchanged.

They have condemned themselves because they are unwilling to change their evil ways.

“For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
(Vs 20)

Therefore, salvation isn’t automatic for those who practice evil. It’s our sin that keeps us from coming into the light. Those things we hold onto that we love, from the dark side. Sex, greed, money, and power, will keep us in darkness. And we don’t want these things to be exposed.

“But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (Vs 21)

Therefore, the truth, and our love of the truth, brings us into the knowledge that our sins are clearly seen. In YHVH God there are no secret sins.

How therefore, do we do the truth?

Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth. (Psalm 119:142)

Keeping the Commandments of YHVH God brings us into the Way, the Truth, and The Life. Those of us who believe will find that they will follow the example of Christ.

Thus, when He says, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

And so many other things He said begin to make sense. Like what He told the young rich man, “But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” (Matthew 19:17)

And who doesn’t know that when judgment takes place. Christ Y’shua will judge us all according to the Commandments of God. Therefore, it is imperative that we come to terms with this knowledge now, before He comes.

We have entire congregations who are claiming salvation, but have no knowledge of God’s Law, and are violating the Commandments with reckless abandon. They neither know the truth, nor do they care to know it.

They are living in darkness and when Judgment comes they will hear these words for their savior, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
(Matthew 7:21-23)

Oh, my dear friends, I pray that you’ll begin to awaken, and understand the danger that is at hand. Turn from your permissive ways, and walk according to the way, of Christ. Do not allow yourselves to be deceived into following the Lawless one, the Anti-Christ.

5Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?
6And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.
7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only £He who now restrains will do so until £He is taken out of the way.
8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
(2nd Thessalonians 2:5-12)

Understand that this warning comes to us through the Word of God, it’s not something I made up, It’s YHVH God speaking to you through His Servant.

If we have no love of the truth, God Himself will allow us to become the property of the Anti-Christ. So, now we cannot say, “no one told us, we did not know!”

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever
