Why can we not see the truth clearly?

“Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?

A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.
And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye?
Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye.”
(Luke 6:39-42)

What is Spiritual blindness?

Apparently, it Has something to do with being unable to see our own faults, and also being untrained in the truth of God’s Word.

A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. (Vs 40)

So many of us have been poorly trained in How to bring forth the truth of God’s Word. I know, because
I was trained by people who taught me how to argue doctrine. (So-called Apologetics.) It wasn’t until I turned to Christ, and asked for the truth, that he became my teacher. I prayed and told Him that I could not find a man who could teach me according to the truth of His Word.

His response to that prayer was what I call night school. I would dream nothing but scripture, from the time I laid down at night, until I woke the next morning. And I trust that training, more than anything another man can teach me. I trust my training over any man’s, simply because most haven’t been to the same school I have been to.

Here is where we have a problem, we think we know everything when we have been taught by other men. But unfortunately, we cannot know anything beyond what they knew. And what they knew has been passed down for centuries from one man to another, preacher after preacher. Some of it truthful and some of it not.

Understand that most of our doctrine has been handed down by the Roman Catholic Church. And their doctrine was born out of an intense dislike for Jews. So, they drove a wedge between what they called Jewish traditions, and Christianity. They wanted nothing to do with Jews, not bothering to consider that both the Father and the Son were first and foremost the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Christ the Messiah of Israel was Himself a Jew, born into the tribe of Judah, a Son of David.

So, we need to understand, that this Jewish Messiah, was the reason that the sabbath was changed to Sunday. The feast days were done away with, and replaced with Pagan celebrations, like Easter, and Christmas. Everything was flavored with the customs of Paganism. So as to create a Church that was separate from our Jewish / Hebrew heritage.

Now if we have been armed with such false doctrine, truly we need to examine what has been handed down to us. For most of it is unfounded in scripture, and therefore unsupported by the very Word we claim to teach from. Therefore, we cannot correct our brethren, because we do not know the truth.

And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? (Vs 41)

Please consider not going another day without thoroughly examining what we have been teaching others. Understand that there’s one hard line to prove the truth of our doctrine. And if our doctrine doesn’t pass this test, it is untrue.

The Amos 3:7 test…Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.

If we can’t find support for our doctrine from any of the Prophets, then we are teaching something that God did not say. And while it may sound good to the unsaved, it’s a lie.

A good example is the Sunday Sabbath. Do we not think that God would have told His prophets if He would have ever changed His 4th Commandment to keep the 7th day holy, and honor His Word?

And if He was going to nail the commandments to a cross, wouldn’t he have told His prophets? My God, that changes the whole of God’s Word, and plays into the hands of the Anti-Christ! (AKA the Lawless one)

“Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye.” (Vs 42)

Ouch! Yahshua, calls folks that do this, “Hypocrite!”. Someone who claims to be something they are not.

My teacher can also be yours. All we have to do is ask, and by His Spirit He will He is able to bring us into the truth of His Word.

John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

Your King is coming! We must be properly prepared for His arrival, Lives are at stake, for His first order of business with us is the separation of the sheep from the goats.

Matthew 13:41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Prepare to receive your King!

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever
