Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.
5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
We need to consider the motives behind what we are being told by our Savior, Yahshua Christ. I understand that he is preparing us for the times that we live in during these days. He is probably the most misrepresented Person who has ever lived on Planet Earth.
Therefore, He warns us to not fall for the lies, and deception, that are sure to come before His return.
He also is preparing us for trying times, what we might refer to as tribulation.
“Take heed that no one deceives you.
For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. (Vs 4-6)
He knows that we will have to live on our faith even when we are suffering at the hands of others. But we must understand that this tribulation is how the Sheep are separated from the goats. The righteous from the unrighteous, and the wheat from the tares.
So, tribulation must come, and it is our faith that must bring us through these end times. Yes it will be difficult, but not impossible. Father YHWH God, will take care of His own, but we must be absolutely certain that we take on the Characteristics of His Son, not some made up version given to us by a false teacher.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Vs 7, 8)
Probably one of the biggest lies that we have been given, is the rapture, and that as believers we will not have to suffer, but will be taken up and not have to go through the Tribulation. And because of this lie we have not prepared ourselves for the reality of these end days. And many of us will fall away from our only source of hope, because of our disappointment.
Now it is more vital to our eternal welfare that we follow in Christ’s footsteps more than ever before. We must keep His Commandments, and walk as he exemplified, following His teachings, if we are to survive.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
He told us repeatedly to beware of false teachers because they will prepare us to follow a lie. The Anti-Christ is referred to as the lawless one for a reason. They do not preach God’s law, but all we hear from them is grace, grace, grace. Unfortunately, this is not true, because grace is always accompanied by obedience to God’s Word.
Therefore, many of us, if we asked them to name the Ten Commandments, just cannot do it. the unfortunate thing about this is that lawlessness is sin.
Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. (1st John 3:4)
The net result is that we sin unaware that we have transgressed God’s Word, and do not repent. Thus, this sin curses us all of our days. Repentance is necessary for our survival and God’s blessing ensues as a result of our contrite heart.
“Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known. (Deuteronomy 11:26-28)
God sees our disobedience as idolatry, and will curse us, but if we obey, blessings come. And he has more ways to bless us than we could ever imagine.
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:
“Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
“Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.
“Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
“Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. (Deuteronomy 28:1-7)
Flee from lawlessness! Yahshua Christ never ever taught grace without obedience to God’s Law. But what did He say about our lawlessness?
He said, “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:22, 23)
The ultimate curse comes from the teachings of the Lawless one, The Anti-Christ. And here is where he puts it into unmistakable terms. On the day of Judgment, he will turn away from those of us who do not know the Commandments of God, and do not keep them.
For this reason, I myself am fearful of His judgment and only a fool would not be afraid of Him.
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28)
In other Words, do not approach God’s judgment bench without the requisite respect due Him!
He is coming!
Shalom my friends,
