There is but one way!

John 10:1 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
5 Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
6 Yehoshua /Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.

There is a way to enter the Sheepfold. A sheepfold is a holding pen, a place where sheep can be kept and fed when they’re not in the field, during the cold months. There’s only one way in, and one way out.

Therefore, one must enter by the door, or gate, there is no other way.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. (Vs 1)

There is no other way to enter.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

He literally is the way and means to enter, and to be a part of His flock, (His Assembly)

But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
(Vs 2-4)

So, what does it mean to follow this Shepherd, Yehoshua?

The Apostle John spells it out for us, when He says, “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”
(1st John 2:3-6)

This is what His sheep do, they follow the Shepherd, and they will do exactly as He instructs them. And clearly if we are following Him, we will keep God’s Law. Because that is what He taught, if we don’t believe it, open the scriptures to the Sermon on the Mount, everything in it is taken from God’s Law / the Commandments.

And in it He says, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill(plēroō or to fully teach)
18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”
(Matthew 5:17-20)

Surely, He is the living Word of God, and that is by definition what God’s Word is, the Law!

So, what about those who are looking for another way?

He speaks to that in Matthew 7.

“Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
(Matthew 7:22, 23)

Here are people who dare to try to enter the sheep fold without using the door, the Way of Christ. Clearly if they practice lawlessness, they are not His sheep.

“And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
Yehoshua /Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.”
(Vs 4-6)

Because His sheep are like Him, the word of God comes alive in them. (Holy Spirit) they know His voice and follow, and knowing His voice they will not follow a false teacher.

Those who are not of His fold have no way to grasp what He tells us by this parable. Hopefully I have brought some clarity, for this understanding is a matter of life and death.

Therefore, He tells us, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

There is no other way!

Here is the basis for a true relationship with the Shepherd in Chief.

Shalom my friends,
