The Majority of what I write about, in case my friends haven’t noticed, is the very Words of Christ Yahshua, His deeds, and His words both have been my guide for many years.
So, when someone goes and quotes Paul to refute Christs words, two things come to mind.
1. They do not understand Paul. If they did, they would know that Paul would never contradict His Savior.
2. They simply do not want to know the truth, because they are comfortable with the lies.
Remember that the Apostle Peter said about Paul: “Consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.” (2nd Peter 3:15)
When I came to understand that keeping the Commandments are paramount to our relationship with Christ, it was because, unlike many evangelicals, instead of using the Roman Road method, I used the Way of the Master method, to witness to untold numbers of random people. Bringing many face to face with Christ and their own salvation.
One day Yahshua spoke to me through the Holy Spirit, and said, “you’re using my Commandments to bring people to me!” I said, “Yes.” Then He said to me, “Why then don’t you keep them yourself?” I was stunned! I thought I was keeping them.
I asked, “What have I done?” He said, “it’s more like what you haven’t done! You have not kept my Sabbath.”
And I remembered the 4th Commandment.
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. (Exodus 20:8-11)
I immediately came under conviction, by my Savior, and not by any man.
I changed Immediately, and began to Keep the Sabbath. Some of My friends came over on Saturdays, and we opened the scriptures and broke bread together, and I began to learn about the feast days. I studied the Book of Deuteronomy at the behest of the Holy Spirit, and studied the Words of Yahshua, and understanding came to me in a way unlike ever before.
I had discovered my Hebrew roots as a Christian.
And I knew that when Christ Yahshua said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15) This was not idle chatter on His part. This was the key to opening a genuine relationship with Him, powered by love.
For it was followed by, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” (John 14:16-17)
Now His Spirit come to rest in us, the Spirit of Truth. And almost immediately on the heels of this truth comes, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)
He has manifested in my Life and this is why I come and plead with those who do not know to keep His Commandments, so that they can draw near to Him, and hear His voice. So that they will be led into righteousness, and bear His light before the whole world.
Shalom my friends.
