Take His Yoke, and rest!

Exodus 19:3 And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:
4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.
5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.
6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”
7 So Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord commanded him.
8 Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” So, Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.
9 And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.”

So, Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.

By definition, a covenant is a contract, or agreement, between two or more parties. For instance, a wedding vow is a covenant. Taking of an oath, is also a covenant.

And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:
4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.
5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.

What we have here, is the children of Israel entering into a covenant agreement with YHWH God, and more there were many other people who were not born of Jacob / Israel but came out of Egypt with them.

Exodus 12:37 Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children.
38 A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds—a great deal of livestock.

There were Egyptians who had converted, also left with them, plus slaves from other nations and tribes, seized the opportunity to leave with them. But in any case, these were our ancestors, and they entered into a covenant agreement with YHWH God, to honor His commandments forever. They agreed not just for themselves but for their future generations, they Became the bride of Christ. And the Covenant or the Commandments they agreed to became their wedding vows. They became wed to YHWH God at this agreement, and He would take care of their every need, just as a husband will care of His wife.

So that we know and understand that these commandments, the Covenant, are still in effect and are what binds us to Christ Yahshua.

Hear His words: “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” (Matthew 5:18)

So, until all prophecy is fulfilled, the marriage vows are in place, and while you or I may not be a Jew, we have been grafted into the House of Israel, by dent of the fact that we have come to Christ, the Son of YHWH God. Who incidentally is a Jew, born into the house of Judah!

Galatians 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

We are left with a question, and that is will we, or will we not, agree to the terms of our marriage vows? Are we seeking to be the bride of Yahshua / Jesus Christ?  If so then we must keep the terms of His covenant made with our forefathers over 3000 years ago.

We are a covenant people, and for that reason YHWH God has set us aside, and made His promise to preserve us above all other people on the earth.

For He says to us, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

  1. The thought of being”grafted” into the Jewish family is amazing. Something I had never considered. The children of God is what’s really amazing
