Open Doors

7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”:
8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.
10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
13 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’

“‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens” (Vs 7)

Here is another validation the what is true is also Holy, the reference to opening doors is evidenced in our own experience, how many times has Yahshua opened a way for us, or shut a door that we ought not have entered? He goes before us making a way to proceed, as His sheep we are shepherded.

He says. “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”(Vs 8)

He has made a path to follow, clearing the way ahead.  Knowing their weakness, He does this because they have kept His Word, (The Commandments) and have not denied His name. (His Identity as Lord)

“Indeed, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.” (Vs 9)

Apparently, He has a bone to pick with Jews who follow Rabbinical Law, rather than Torah. Because they try to force their traditions on those who are following scripture. Remember Mark 7, where He said, ““Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.
7 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”

These are the very Jews he is referring to, who are persecuting His Church, and He tells us that they are really not Jews. He says the time will come when they will bow before them and recognize their righteousness.

“Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” (Vs 10)

Here is the beginning of His favor toward those who have kept the faith in spite of what the rest of the world is doing, and in spite of the persecution they will have endured. He keeps them from the hour of trial that will come upon the entire world. These are His sheeple, and His remnant, whom he will protect.

“Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.”

Hang on to what you have gained, so that No one can steal away from us what we have accomplished.

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. (Colossians 2:8-10)

“He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.” (Vs 12)

Here is what comes of resisting the world and its persecution. This is a cameo of Victory, our overcoming everything that Satan brings to our doorsteps.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (1st John 5:2-5)

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’ (Vs 13)

Do not be left out of this equation, keep the Commandments, and walk according to the Word of God, just as it is written. Do not listen to those who claim that God’s Law was abolished, they are false teachers.

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:9)

This door is open to you who Follow Christ Yahshua!

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever
