One Way!

Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

I dearly love the way Psalms begins. It begins with the secret to living a blessed life, Something that many of us need to know. Especially while we are wondering why so much evil has come to visit our nation.

The Psalmist begins by saying, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night.” (Vs 1, 2)

Here is a man who will not listen to those who live an ungodly life. He won’t enter into sin, nor speak judgment on others. Yet He will discern for Himself, what to do, or not do.

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. (Vs 3)

He is like a tree that is well watered, He grows and prospers, He is a living testimony of God’s mercy and grace.

The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
(Vs 4, 5)

The Judgment that is coming will separate those who are Serious about their relationship with God, from those who are seeking to please Him. Those who love the Elohim of Israel are the ones that will withstand His judgment.

And those who sin shall not remain in the assembly of the righteous.

Here is the separation of the righteous from the unrighteous, the sheep from the goats.

If there is a lesson to be learned Here it is clearly that it pays to obey God’s commandments, and to avoid involvement with those who don’t.

For our Elohim knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish. (Vs 6)

There is no secret sin, God knows it all. And for that reason, we should consider the outcome for those who do not come clean and change their ways.

The thoughts of Spiritual death by Him who judges righteously makes me very circumspect with regard to what I have done with my life.

Yehoshua said, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28)

He should know, He and God are one and the same.

Shalom my friends,
