In Spirit and in Truth!

John 4:21“Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”
26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”

Yehoshua is speaking to the Woman at the well in Samaria, and tells her That the time is coming that there will be no need to worship the Father in places like on a certain mountain, or in Jerusalem.

But worship will take place in the Spirit and in truth, right where we stand.

His exact words are, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

This little bit of scripture speaks volumes to me. We don’t need to go to a specific location to worship our Elohim. We can Worship anywhere we are, and the Father is with us. The only requirement is that we approach Him in the Spirit, and in truth.

We will find YHVH God inside of us, and the closer we walk with Yahshua the closer we are to our Elohim.

Yehoshua told her, “You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.” (Vs 22)

The Jews know who and what YHVH God is. For He brought them out of bondage, and through 40 years in the wilderness. So, He says, Salvation is of Israel, (the Jews). They walk according to the Ancient path.

They have an example that should be followed. (Torah)

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (Vs 24)

So, this brings us to the truth, and the Spirit. Isn’t it interesting that Yehoshua describes the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of Truth?

He says, “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” (John 14:16, 17)

And equally as interesting, He says that this Spirit comes to those who love Him enough to keep His commandments. “If you love me, Keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)

And isn’t also interesting that By this Spirit His law is written on our hearts and in our minds.

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” (Hebrews 8:10)

The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”
Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”
(Vs 25, 26)

She Knew that Messiah was expected to come, and was looking for Him, just as many of us are today.

The Messiah spent 3 Days in that Samaritan village, and He and His disciples taught them the truth of YHVH God’s Word. And to this day, even we former Gentiles, are receiving the Holy Spirit and the commandments, and being grafted into Israel.

So that we too will worship in Spirit and truth, that God that lives in us and among us!

But believe me when I say, The biggest hinderance we have to being able to actually worship in Spirit and in Truth, is the lack of truth in our churches, and the lack of teacher’s who are willing to teach accordingly.

The apostle Paul points this out to us saying,Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?
6And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.
7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He
(The Anti-Christ) is taken out of the way.
8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
(2nd Thessalonians 2:5-12)

Yes, virtually all of us have been duped, and taught doctrine instead of truth, not the doctrine of God, but doctrine from those who hate God’s commandments.

For God has said,  For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.” (Proverbs 4:2)

YHVH God gives us truthful doctrine, and that includes His Commandments.

But one thing we have to know, is that when Christ comes and takes out the Anti-Christ, it will be too late to change our ways then. For those of us who have believed the lie, will have no savior, and will be left out of Paradise.

And at this point in our walk, if we have the Spirit of truth dwelling in us even in a small way, that Holy Spirit must be screaming, return to the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

For those who cannot hear this cry of the Holy Spirit, are condemned to remain in arrested development, and must accept God’s judgment.

So here is what will happen on that last day. “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
14Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
15But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
(Revelation 22:12-15)

So now we know the fate of those who believing in the lie will be, we don’t have to wonder, it written right here for all to see if we are willing to look.

Most of us will be left outside, unable to enter the Holy City, simply because we did not know what it means to approach Christ in Spirit and in Truth.

He warned us, just as I am warning you. For did He not say? “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
(Matthew 7:22, 23)

Now is the time for us to come to Him according to the Spirit and the Truth. Repentance, and change is required.

13“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
14Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
(Matthew 7:13, 14)

This message is not for everyone, and some will hear it and dismiss it, but even they will not be able to say that they didn’t know.

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever
