How is it?

Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

When Christ Yahshua says, “Narrow is the Gate and difficult is the way which leads to life.” It makes me wonder what He’s talking about, especially when People say things like, “once saved always saved”, or the Law was nailed to the cross, it’s no longer in effect. We hear things like Jesus was righteous so I don’t have to be.

How is it that the way to life is difficult or Narrow if we are teaching a broad road gospel?

Could this be why Yahshua then says, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” (Vs 15)

In Deuteronomy a false prophet is someone who does not teach the Law, and teaches that there’s some other way. “You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.
5But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken in order to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst.” (Deuteronomy 13:4, 5)

These False teachers, or prophets, are at the core of the failure of the church to bring true believers into the Fold. Yahshua tells us to look at their fruit saying, “You will know them by their fruits.
20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” (Vs 16-20)

When people fall away from the church, it is because they have backslidden, having been taught that they are saved no matter what they do, or what sin they engage in, they fall away, until someone has a revival, and then thy come back only to backslide yet again. This cycle repeats itself over and over because no one has given them an anchor firm and unswerving to which they can adhere to.

How is it that we can come to Christ and then fall away repeatedly when the way is narrow and difficult?

By their fruits we will know them!

So then, Yahshua tells us, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”

He tells us that we are to do the will of the Father if we will enter the Kingdom. So, lets take a minute and look at God’s will.

Every prominent figure in the scriptures from Noah, to David, Daniel, Abraham, Isaac, and Joseph, were keepers of God’s Word, the Law, And that’s the reason they are in the scriptures, they lived according to God’s will.

Does He not say, Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8) How can we do that and be disobedient to His Commandments, violating His covenant?

Yahshua give us the clincher, He says, “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (Vs 22, 23)

He is saying that those of us who claim to follow Him, and are Lawless He wants nothing to do with them. So that means that without keeping God’s Law, we cannot enter the Kingdom. He will turn His back on those folks.

It makes me sad to have to point this out to people who should already know these things. Many of you have a Bible just like the one I have. It will tell you the same things, it after all is the inspired Word of God.

So, how is it that we don’t know these things? It’s because we have studied man’s doctrine, rather than truth.

Proverbs 4:1 Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding;
2 For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.

Shalom my friends,
