He is the One who goes before you.

Deuteronomy31:1 Then Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel.
2 And he said to them: “I am one hundred and twenty years old today. I can no longer go out and come in. Also, the Lord has said to me, ‘You shall not cross over this Jordan.’
3 The Lord your God Himself crosses over before you; He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua himself crosses over before you, just as the Lord has said.
4 And the Lord will do to them as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites and their land, when He destroyed them.
5 The Lord will give them over to you, that you may do to them according to every commandment which I have commanded you.
6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
7 Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.
8 And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Moses is unable to enter the Promised Land Because the Lord YHWH told Him not to. 120 years old and having brought the Children of Jacob / Israel through 40 years of wandering in the wilderness He must watch as they cross over and go into the land.

And he said to them: “I am one hundred and twenty years old today. I can no longer go out and come in. Also, the Lord has said to me, ‘You shall not cross over this Jordan.’  (Vs 2)

But the Lord, YHWH will go before the Children of Israel, The Lord your God Himself crosses over before you; He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua himself crosses over before you, just as the Lord has said.  (Vs 3)

When the Lord tells us to go, no matter what it is that we are to do for Him, He goes before us to prepare the way. Operating within the confines of God’s will, is going to guarantee our success, but on the other hand going against His direction guarantees failure, and disappointment.

Probably the best evidence of this is what happen when God ordered Israel to fight the Amalekites and take their land. They refused and those who would not fight at the Lord’s Command, spent another 40 years wandering in the wilderness because of their disobedience, and none of them lived to see the Promised Land. (see Numbers 13-14)

When God gives us a commission, it is best to carry it out exactly as it is given. Otherwise, we are doomed to failure.

And the Lord will do to them as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites and their land, when He destroyed them. (Vs 4) So they already have an example by which to order their steps.

“The Lord will give them over to you, that you may do to them according to every commandment which I have commanded you.
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Vs 5, 6)

When Moses speaks, He always speaks on behalf of The Lord, every word. Ever since He received His calling at the Burning bush. This is what He does!

When we Hear these words, we are reminded of the power in doing what God wills,

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.
And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” (Vs 7, 8)

Here is the Guarantee that Yahshua will fight for them and that we must not fear them. Now is a good time to remember these words, because we are now facing a godless enemy in this country, I know that the time will come when there will be a struggle between the People of God, and the people of Satan.

We need to know that it will be impossible for them to prevail, by doing nothing. That will be our own punishment for refusing to obey God. We cannot prevail without Him, For He is the One who goes before you.

Shalom my friends,
