Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. 25 “Therefore, I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
I have seen the time when everything in my life seemed to require my worrying over them, for I was in control of my life, or so I thought.
I also thought that if I needed anything, it was me who had to provide it, by working and earning the money that could buy the things I needed. Yahshua has shown me the error in that kind of thought, for He is able to fill all of my needs out of thin air.
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Vs 24)
Our concern needs to be our calling, and our right living, and He will relieve us of our worry and concern over what we need. Our relationship and our dependency on a supernatural Elohim is where all good things come. Never allow our desire for Money or things tear us away from being totally dependent on Yahshua.
He and the Father will come to us and manifest Himself to us, when we draw near to Him, and the source of all life becomes our Father.
“Therefore, I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” (Vs 25)
I remember a time when I had given everything I had away, because I felt that my possessions were keeping me from being closer to my Savior, and I wanted to know Him so badly. We even gave away our car, and all we had was in my backpack.
We left Virginia, and caught a ride to Black Mountain, North Carolina, and we signed up to paint hotel rooms at Montreat (Baptist retreat Center) to make a little money. But we needed a place to stay, and on the way to get the painting job, we passed a house with little cabins all around it. the Holy Spirit said to me, “This is where you’ll be staying.”
So, after signing up for painting, I went to that house and knocking on the door the nicest lady came to the door. I asked about the cabins and she said, that she couldn’t let us have one of those because they weren’t ready, they needed to be cleaned before the season began for visitors to come.
My heart sunk, thinking that I was wrong about this place, but only for a moment. As she said, “But come on in, I think I have something for you.” She led us to the upstairs, where there was a fully furnished apartment. And Said, “You can stay here.” There were linin’s, dishes, and even some food in the pantry.
And she left my wife and I, saying, “You can pay when you get paid for painting.” A very modest rent. I sat down on the sofa and looking up, I saw a poster on the wall, a picture of some birds in a wheat field, and the caption said,
“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” (Vs 26, 27)
I could not hold back my tears. For I knew that He had brought us to this place, and was providing for us beyond my fondest hopes. That was His affirmation, that Yahshua / Jesus was my benefactor, and was with me in that supernatural way that all of us need to know and recognize.
He is still with me today, and it still blows my mind when he does the things He does. I love Him so!
Had I not sought Him out, and changed my life so as to open the door to a full-blown relationship I probably would have only known about Him, instead of knowing Him.
Believe me when I say, “There is nothing in this world that compares to Knowing Christ.”
“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)
Shalom my friends,
