Return to Me, Says YHVH!

Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

The 4th of the 10 Commandments is with regard to keeping the Sabbath, That our Elohim made Holy and set apart, as an appointed time, a time when He would come together with His people.

Y’shua had said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
40On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
(Matthew 22:37-40)

What he is telling us, is that the Commandments are in two parts. The first four are about loving YHVH God with all of our heart. And the 2nd part, the remaining 6 commandments are about loving our neighbor as ourselves.

Most of us have transgressed these ten Commandments at one time or another. Told a lie, cheated, stolen or mis-appropriated something, broken our word, or looked with lust. But as we grew in the Spirit we began to repent of these things and they have been forgiven.

So, we have changed in the process, and this is the way it should be. We must repent when we have sinned. And the basic function of the Commandments is to make us aware of our sin.

4Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
5And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.
6Whoever abides in Him does not sin.
(1st John 3:5-6)

There was a time when we were ignorant of these things and we sinned with reckless abandon, but as we became aware of YHVH God’s instructions, most of us have changed, and have become more obedient. And it’s only right that we demonstrate our Love for both the Father and the Son in this way.

And did not Y’shua tell us so, when he said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

So, we keep YHVH’s Law / Commandments, because we love Him, not because He forces us to, but because he has set us aside, and made us Holy unto Him. And having entered into this relationship we desire to please our Savior and King.

But one thing Many of us have yet to look at, is the 4th Commandment. And why is that? Why is it, that we are willing to come to terms with 9 out of 10 holy commandments. Do we think YHVH God was mistaken about which day He selected as a day of rest? Why is it that we would follow the edicts of the Roman Catholic Church and ignore God’s Word?

Is it that we think that the Roman Catholic Church is more Holy Than YHVH God? For there would be no Sunday Sabbath except that they forced the change in or around 321AD, and killed a lot of Christians in the process.

Interestingly this was a time when the Church in Rome was bringing Pagans into the Church, and they did this by adopting Pagan rites and applying Christ’s name to them. And Sunday was the Pagan Sabbath, for they worshipped the Sun God, Mithra, as all Pagan do. So, changing the Sabbath was so that they could bring more Idol worshipers into the Church.

In other words, they made a deal with the devil, to replace what is Holy to YHVH with what is of Satan. And when Martin Luther departed the Catholic Church, He poisoned the well for Protestants, by bringing the Sunday Sabbath with him.

This is at the core of the deception and the lies of the Anti-Christ, for Satan lives to draw us away from worshipping God, and obeying His instructions.

7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only £He who now restrains will do so until £He is taken out of the way.
8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
(2nd Thessalonians 2:7-12)

From the garden of Eden, right up to the time of judgment, we are more likely to obey the Anti-Christ, (The Lawless one) than to obey Christ and the strongest indicator of who our God is, is who dictates our doctrine. And that’s the only basis for a Sunday Sabbath, is man’s doctrine, not God’s.

Could it be that we’ve been deceived by Satan? I believe yes, based on the scriptures.

For YHVH Has said, For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law. (Proverbs 4:2)

“Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” (Zechariah 1:3)

Now is the time, if we are ever going to come back to YHVH God the Father. Turn around now!

Shalom my friends,

The WAY!

John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

It stands to reason that we have doubts, according to what Y’shua says here. If we do not believe the things of the world, How can we possibly believe the things that are of heaven.

Apparently Y’shua had a foot in both worlds. He was on the Earth, But His Spirit was of heaven.

Thus, He says to Nicodemus, If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.”
 (Vs 12, 13)

He speaks of believing, and the word used here, means to place trust in that thing, or person in whom we believe. How will we place trust in the things of Heaven? (Have faith in that.) So, he is saying that for some of us who are struggling with the things of the world, will have even more difficulty with Heaven, because faith is required.

But now, Nicodemus knows the Torah, and knows about Moses, so Yehoshua uses Moses to bring him around to understanding by faith, what he has said.

He tells Him, And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. (Vs 14, 15)

He speaks of the time when the children of Israel walking through a place full of poisonous snakes. God’s curse against them, because of their speaking against Him.

5And the people spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.”
6So the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died.
7Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord that He take away the serpents from us.” So, Moses prayed for the people.
8Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.”
9So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so, it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.
(Numbers 21:5-9)

While YHVH brought a curse upon them, He gave them a way to overcome it, by putting their faith on this serpent affixed to a pole, and held high for all to see. Not at all unlike Christ who will be nailed to a cross and lifted up for all to see. And Nicodemus doesn’t know it, but he will be there for that future event, and witness it with His own eyes.

Interesting isn’t it, the parallels we see from beginning to end in the Scriptures. And that this one is pointed out by Y’shua Himself. “even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Our salvation was not free, but our salvation was paid for by the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, who provided His own son to give us a way to be free of sin, and bringing us yet again, out from under bondage, and out from among the serpents of this world.

Yehoshua goes on to say, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
(Vs 16, 17)

He is the difference between being lost, and drowning in sin, or being at peace with YHVH God the Father. But belief is required, trusting in Him is what brings us out of the world, and into the Kingdom.

He adds, “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
(Vs 18, 19)

Once we come to Christ the Messiah, we must part ways with our sin. It’s not like He does everything for us, We must take action, and walk according to the way He taught us to walk in this world.

The Apostle John wrote, 4Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
5And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

6Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. (1st John 3:4-6)

We cannot embrace Christ as our savior, and remain in the darkness of sin. Therefore, He give us the strength to overcome, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

“For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (Vs 20, 21)

The way has been made clear so that we can see unobstructed, the truth of His Words, for Y’shua is the living word of God. and He give us a clear understanding that we must keep His Commandments in order to walk as He walked, after all is said and done, what other example do we have?

And how can we abide in Him, and walk contrary to His ways?

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. (1st John 2:6)

So yes, He took away our sin at the cross, but now we must remain sinless, in order to honor His sacrifice. We may fail, and we may stumble, but that is why we have the right to repentance. And in so doing He is faithful to forgive us.

But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds” (Romans 2:5, 6)

Therefore, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

Help our unbelief.

Mark 9:19 He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.”
20 Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.
21 So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.
22 And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”
23 Y’shua / Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

25 When Y’shua / Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”
26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.”
27 But Y’shua / Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

28And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?”
29So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

The Child had a demon that caused convulsions. Quite possibly, this is what we call epilepsy today. But in any case, Y’shua is the Master Physician, and where we use Pharmaceuticals today to manage these things, Y’shua simply removed the cause of the problem. He cast out the evil Spirit.

Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.
So, He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.
And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”
(Vs 20-22)

Here is a man who has heard of Y’shua but was unsure of Him, and said, “But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” Implying doubt.

Here is the prayer from a man who is grasping at straws in His mind, at this time. He was so unsure of what Y’shua could do, He had heard things, but sometimes seeing is believing, isn’t it? Especially for those of us who are accustomed to being powerless against such things.

Y’shua / Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”
 (Vs 23, 24)

Here’s a man who at His wits end wants so much to save his son from this demonic attack, He is crying, tears are flowing, and Y’shua says, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
In essence, Y’shua reaches into his heart, and calls him to believe and it will be done. And struggling to believe this helpless man says, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” So not only is the boy in need of help, but the boys father needs help as well, and Y’shua is going to help His unbelief. Everything will be set right in a flash. All Y’shua has to do, is speak it, and it is done.

When Y’shua / Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”
Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.”
(Vs 25, 26)

So once again the Father is glorified by the faithful actions of the Son of YHVH God. the whole crowd saw it, and they would talk about it, and tell others, about How God heals and restores us to good health both mentally and physically, through faith.

The demon came out, and Y’shua forbid it to return. And now this child, is laying there peacefully so that some thought that he was dead, but no! He was at peace, no long animated by an evil spirit, the child was at rest and in a state of peace.

But Y’shua / Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. (Vs 27)

On His feet now, and at peace for the first time in many years. Here is the product of believing in faith. Now, everything is possible with faith, for this is what separates us from those who are of the enemy’s camp. For if we truly believe we have power over those who are without faith to believe.

And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?”
So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

So yes, we can do this also, but by prayer and fasting. Here is where the line is drawn, and where we are separated from your average guy who says he believes, but lives in fear. Fear of death, fear of demons, or fear of the unknown.

The Spirit of Christ resides in us, we are not separated from Him except that when we do not believe, that unbelief drives a wedge between us and our savior, for it is by faith that we are redeemed.

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:18)

Those who believe are separated unto Y’shua, and this binds them together as one, thus, we have the body of Christ. united in belief / faith.

This is our power base, and what keeps us operating with the gifts of the Spirit.

The apostle Paul tells us how vital and powerful this believing is, when he says, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
17 Therefore, “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.”
18 “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
  (2nd Corinthians 6:14-18)

It is this same faith, that binds us together in love.

So that the gifts are manifested in us, and so that Y’shua will be glorified in what we do with them. Yes. even as demons are cast out in his Holy name, His power is made manifest in our body of believers.

Y’shua, help us with our unbelief!

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

What was meant for evil, God meant for good.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Here is an accurate picture of what Christ is like. The creator of the Universe, and everything in it, came to earth in the flesh and walked among men.

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
(Vs 10, 11)

Consider that this is the same God that form a pillar of smoke in the day time and a column of fire at night. And led the children of Israel away from bondage in Egypt and into the promised Land.

And because he came to them as a man, they rejected Him, and had Him crucified, in spite of the fact that The Prophets of YHVH had given them advance notice that he was coming. They had Him killed in a most vicious way. And that was also prophesied by the same prophets.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted,

Yet He opened not His mouth;

He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,

And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,

So, He opened not His mouth. (Isaiah 53:7)

When we stop to think about it, it’s amazing that YHVH God was willing to do this for our salvation, and to bring the house of Israel back into the fold.

For in spite of those who hated and persecuted Him, there were many who loved and followed Him and still to this day, there are two camps, those who are for Y’shua, and those who are not.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:  who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (Vs 12, 13)

As it turns out, He came into this world to create that difference, between those who believe and follow Him, and those who don’t. And to separate the wheat from the chaff. And we see this in several things He said in parables.

So, it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 13:49, 50)

While those who hated Him, wanted Him dead, actually they brought about the resurrection, and a healing of the separation of the lost tribes, making the restoration possible.

It makes me think of Joseph and his brothers when they were re-united. They Had wanted Him dead because they were jealous of Him.

But now that they have found Him alive, they were healed by Him.

Genesis 50:17 ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph: “I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.”’ Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.
18 Then his brothers also went and fell down before his face, and they said, “Behold, we are your servants.”
19 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God?
20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.

What was meant for evil, God meant it for good. All is forgiven as they return to Him. And so also what was meant for evil, as it turned out, was a good thing for all of us, who have come to Christ in repentance.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (Vs 14)

Isn’t it amazing that after being soundly rejected by the temple Priests who were supposed to be serving YHVH, He extends the hand of forgiveness.

Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities;

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,

And by His stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray;

We have turned, every one, to his own way;

And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

He will return to us, any time now, but this time it is for a different purpose, He comes not to be ruthlessly persecuted and killed. He comes not to administer grace and mercy, But when he comes this time, it will be as a victorious King, and judge. And there will be a separation of those who have practiced evil, and those who have lived for Him, and practiced the goodness, mercy, and the love of Christ.

We must decide now, if we will submit to Him, or if we will continue to resist following Him, and walking according to the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

I fear that many of us, are not yet ready to receive our King.

But that’s for each of us to reconcile within ourselves.

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? — unless indeed you are disqualified.
But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified.
(2nd Corinthians 13:5, 6)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

The fields are white with the harvest!

Psalm 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;

The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;

8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;

The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;

9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;

The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold,

Yea, than much fine gold;

Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned,

And in keeping them there is great reward.

The Law of YHVH is perfect converting the soul, and Here is why. I asked Y’shua to help me to learn how to witness to people effectively, and no sooner had I prayed for this, someone handed me a book a few days later, and the Title of it was, “The Way of The Master.” I began to study it. And lo-and-behold it gave me a way to effectively witness to someone in three minutes. And to do it in a way that was as effective as Christ Himself.

He would point out the sin in someone’s life in a way that was undeniable. Like the young rich ruler, to whom he said, “But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

18He said to Him, “Which ones?”

Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’
19‘Honor your father and your mother,’  and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Christ pointed this well-to-do young man to the Ten Commandments. And now I will learn to do the very same. But there’s a huge difference between me and Y’shua Christ. When it comes to employing His methods. He knew the mind of the person to whom He was talking, I don’t read minds like He did, so I ask questions.

I would introduce myself to a stranger perhaps at the carwash, or the grocery, or in the waiting room at the doctor’s office, anywhere that we have just three minutes to wait.

I would ask them if they considered themselves to be a good person? And in most instances the reply would be yes, “I am a good person!”

So, remember, I am not going to preach to them, I am simply going to ask a few questions. So, I would ask if it’s Ok to ask a few questions to see if they are really a good person? And usually they will say, Yes, ask!

Proverbs 20:6 Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man?

So, I would ask if they had ever told a lie? And the reply without fail would be, “yes!” And so, I would ask, “How many lies must we tell, in order to be a liar?”

And the reply, “Just one.”

I would ask, if they had ever stolen, or mis-appropriated anything? Had they found something they did not return to its owner, or borrowed something, and did not return it? Theft or fraud, they are the same.

Most would reply, “Yes” at some time they did.

So, I ask how many times will we do this to be called a thief? “Once!” comes the reply.

So, then I would ask, If they had ever looked with lust at another person? Yes, would usually be the reply. And I remind them of what Y’shua had said about looking with lust, “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” (Matthew 5:27, 28)

So, I ask, did you know that when Christ comes, He will judge us based on the Ten Commandments? And what will He say about us? Having admitted that we are a liar, a thief, and an adulterer at heart, will we be guilty or innocent in His eyes?

Now usually the reply will come reluctantly, But never-the-less they say, guilty.

So now, I ask, “If we’re guilty, will we be going to Heaven or Hell?

The reply is stunning. They will actually say that they are going to Hell in their current condition. And we can see the conviction coming on their faces, and many times tears begin to flow.

Therefore, “The Commandments are perfect converting the soul.” And we have delivered them directly to the heart of a lawless soul.

At this point we can see the change in their countenance, conviction is beginning to take root in their heart.

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,

And saves such as have a contrite spirit. (Psalm 34:18)

It is at this point that I ask, if they are concerned that Hell is their destination, and I tell them that I am concerned for them. I ask, “would they like to do something about it?”

I explain what repentance is, and how we are forgiven our sins. This is what we do when we have sinned.

Now, I do not offer a prayer of salvation, for it is not biblical to do so. But what I do, is ask them if they would like to pray and ask Y’shua to forgive their sin?

If they are shy about praying publicly, I simply ask them if they can remember that before they lay their head down on a pillow that night, they should have a talk with Y’shua, pray and ask to be forgiven, and that they would like to change.

It’s simple to do this, and if we are keeping the commandments of YHVH God, then we are qualified to bring this message to others, by simply asking a few questions.

“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
(Matthew 9:37, 38)

How can we teach love without the Commandments of God?

John 5:18 Therefore, the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God.
19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.
22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,
23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

The Pharisees were of a mind that because Y’shua healed on the Sabbath, He violated The Sabbath. Therefore, they wanted to kill Him. And more than that they were angry because He claimed to be the Son of YHVH, And therefore, equal with YHVH God.

Of course, they had completely forgotten the prophets, who foretold the coming of the Messiah. And because they weren’t willing to believe the prophets, they could not accept the Messiah, and the result was that they were coming against YHVH God. And these were men who claimed that they knew the scriptures, both the Torah and the Prophets.

Isaiah 53:1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Unbelief is the cause of their sin. and the fear they felt drove them to anger, Not because Y’shua broke their Sabbath, but because they perceived it to be their Sabbath and not God’s. They had taken God’s place at this point, and had no understanding of who and what they saw before their very eyes. The Messiah of Israel!

Therefore, the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. (Vs 18)

Y’shua knew this about them, he had a clear picture of what they wanted to do, and this was His response. Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.”
(Vs 19, 20)

He promises to boggle their minds, with wonders and miracles, so that they will know, and glorify YHVH God. But they will not grasp it. He is simply doing what the Father has required of His Son.

“For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.
For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.”
(Vs 21-23)

It is a shame that these men who claim to be the priest of the Most High God, do not recognize who is standing right in front of them. But what’s worse, is that they want to kill Him.

John 5:42 “But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.
I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.”
(Vs 42, 43)

He knows that they are seething with hatred toward Him, and points out that they lack the one quality of a priest that must be present in their work. He points out that they have no love, the love of YHVH God.

He also points out that they have no respect for the things of God. So, he poses a question. He asks, “How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?”  (Vs 44)

This makes me mindful of the modern-day priests, (Preachers) who speak of the love of God, yet they are not willing to preach the commandments of God, or the Word of God, and which is the very core of our covenant with Him.

He tells them that he does not accuse them, but that the accuser will be Moses who brought forth the commandments of YHVH. Surely anyone who has read the whole Bible, knows that these Commandments are God’s instructions to His people, so that they can walk in righteousness before Him. and we must also know, that we will be judged according to God’s Commandments. The same ones that Moses delivered to the Children of Israel.

And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. (Revelation 20:12)

“Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust.
For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.
But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
(Vs 45-47)

It is time for us to come near to God, and demonstrate to Him our desire to walk in His ways, especially if we want to lead others to Christ. Who can say that they will serve God, and then ignore His will, and his Word?

Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. (1st John 3:4)

We cannot leave the commandments out of our teaching, that produces the same kind of sin that the Pharisees produced. Because they replaced the Commandments of God with their own commandments, and they were not able to convey the love of God to other’s because they didn’t have it themselves.

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. (1st John 5:3)

The whole issue that Christ had with the Pharisees, was their doctrine was causing more harm than good to the Kingdom.  They were causing people to stray from the Word of God as it was written, but instead they made it near impossible to follow their version of the law.

Are we going to be modern day Pharisees, and lead people away from God? I pray not!

“Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:19)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

How narrow is our narrow way?

Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

Sometimes we hear what Y’shua says, but do we fully understand? He is saying here that there are two ways to live this life that YHVH has gifted us with. There is the Narrow way, and the Broad way. The narrow way is the way that YHVH God has given us, the lawful way. But the broad way is permissive, and without restrictions.

Now, consider how we live our lives, in light of God’s Commandments. He said, 2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
13 “You shall not murder.
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
(Exodus 20:2-17)

YHVH in His unending wisdom has given us the narrow way in which we must conduct ourselves, if we will be His children. He created us, and created this world that we must live in. It stands to reason, that He would also give us a way to live in that serves His purposes.

But on the other hand, there is a broad way, a way that avoids any instruction, or discipline.

This life is where we live according to our own likes, and dislikes, We may even keep one or more of God’s Commandments, but not if it is a inconvenience. It’s kind of a, if it feels good do it, sort of life.

This permissive life, is why the Sabbath is not kept, and is why we cannot depend on a friend to keep His word, It is why there are so many divorces, and unwed mothers. It is the cause of poverty and hunger, prisons, and wars.

But more than that, broken hearts, disease, abortions, and theft or fraud. All sin is caused by walking in the broad road.

“Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Vs 14)

Y’shua tells us that few will find the narrow way and live. And here is why, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. (2nd Timothy 4:3, 4)

Most of us don’t want to hear The truth, and simply will not listen to it. And it seems that we love our false doctrine, because it makes us comfortable in our permissive ways, and we actually convince ourselves that we are Heaven bound, while we revel in our lawlessness, and walk the broad road.

We will find that we will have lots of company in our lawlessness. because we follow the path of the majority. Plus, there will be lots of help in going the permissive way, You see, Christ has enemies, And they will do anything to turn us away from the narrow path. Because their leader is called the Lawless one, The Anti-Christ, Satan.

He is a liar and a deceiver, and has been a murderer of the righteous from the beginning.

Scripture warns us, repeatedly. Beware of false prophets, teachers, etc. And YHVH gives us a specific way to recognize them when they appear in our path.

“If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’—which you have not known—‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.”
(Deuteronomy 13:1-4)

If anyone tells us that there is some other way, other than keeping YHVH God’s Commandments, they are of the devil, and a false teacher.

There is no lawless path worth following, that’s Satan’s way.

The Apostle Paul warned us of the coming of the Anti-Christ when He said, “Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?
And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only £He who now restrains will do so until He
(The Anti-Christ) is taken out of the way.
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
(2nd Thessalonians 2:5-12)

Who are you following? And how is your way narrow? When YHVH writes His law on our hearts and minds, doesn’t that mean that we ought to Keep His Commandments.

“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds, I will write them,” (Hebrews 10:16)

We need to seriously consider whether or not we are walking the path of Salvation.

For remember that Christ said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

He manifests in us with the giving of His Spirit, which will lead us and guide us in His Ways. And the Holy Spirit, AKA the Spirit of truth, will keep us from  being deceived into following the Anti-Christ.

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

He who does not love Me, does not keep My Word.

Deuteronomy 29:14 “I make this covenant and this oath, not with you alone,
15 but with him who stands here with us today before the Lord our God, as well as with him who is not here with us today
16 (for you know that we dwelt in the land of Egypt and that we came through the nations which you passed by,
17 and you saw their abominations and their idols which were among them—wood and stone and silver and gold);
18 so that there may not be among you man or woman or family or tribe, whose heart turns away today from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations, and that there may not be among you a root bearing bitterness or wormwood;
19 and so it may not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall have peace, even though I follow the dictates of my heart’—as though the drunkard could be included with the sober.
20 “The Lord would not spare him; for then the anger of the Lord and His jealousy would burn against that man, and every curse that is written in this book would settle on him, and the Lord would blot out his name from under heaven.
21 And the Lord would separate him from all the tribes of Israel for adversity, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this Book of the Law,
22 so that the coming generation of your children who rise up after you, and the foreigner who comes from a far land, would say, when they see the plagues of that land and the sicknesses which the Lord has laid on it:

We are living in a time when we seldom hear the Word of YHVH God preached, The Commandments and the terms of the Covenant of which we became a party to when we proclaimed Christ as our savior.

We joined ourselves to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of Israel. Yet many of us think that we can ignore His Commandments and still be acceptable to Him. It shall not be!

He says, “I make this covenant and this oath, not with you alone,
15 but with him who stands here with us today before the Lord our God, as well as with him who is not here with us today.”
(Vs 14, 15)

It doesn’t make any difference whether we were there when YHVH brought the Children of Israel out of bondage or not. We know what idolatry is. We know not to bow down to them or to worship them. We know not to dismiss His Commandments, and not to add to them, or take away from them. We are not ignorant, we know what the scriptures say, because we are educated and can read.We can ignore it if we want, but that doesn’t change the facts, and it doesn’t change the facts that God’s curse is upon us now.

“(for you know that we dwelt in the land of Egypt and that we came through the nations which you passed by, and you saw their abominations and their idols which were among them—wood and stone and silver and gold); so that there may not be among you man or woman or family or tribe, whose heart turns away today from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations, and that there may not be among you a root bearing bitterness or wormwood; and so it may not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall have peace, even though I follow the dictates of my heart’—as though the drunkard could be included with the sober.” (Vs 16-19)

Even though we know what idolatry is, and have seen it ourselves, still we have turned away from the living Elohim of Israel, and we will neither hear or obey the Ordinances and statutes of a righteous God.

“Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse:
27the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today;
28and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.
(Deuteronomy 11:26-28)

He knows that if you will not hear or obey His Word, you have another god whom you will hear and obey. Thus, we obey gods we do not know, rather than follow our creator. That is idolatry!

“and so, it may not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall have peace, even though I follow the dictates of my heart’—as though the drunkard could be included with the sober.” (Vs 19)

So even though we have not bent a knee before YHVH, we comfort ourselves by saying that we are blessed. As if that could take the place of YHVH God’s Blessing. It’s as if we have included ourselves among the saved when we have no right to be among them. “as though the drunkard could be included with the sober.”

We need to hear and pay attention to what is being said here and elsewhere throughout the scriptures.

Remember what Y’shua Christ said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
(Matthew 7:21-23)

I am telling you that it is time to Change and return to YHVH God, or accept that You will not be acceptable to Him at judgment, for Christ will judge according to God’s law. (The Commandments)

“The Lord would not spare him; for then the anger of the Lord and His jealousy would burn against that man, and every curse that is written in this book would settle on him, and the Lord would blot out his name from under heaven.
21 And the Lord would separate him from all the tribes of Israel for adversity, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this Book of the Law,
22 so that the coming generation of your children who rise up after you, and the foreigner who comes from a far land, would say, when they see the plagues of that land and the sicknesses which the Lord has laid on it:”

Look around, what do you see, But an entire world full of sick and dying people, there’s a plague upon us, and who is getting sick, but those who are lawless. And now comes the Famine. Even the wealthiest nations in the world will be driven into poverty by this curse.

If we want to be blessed, then we must act in such a way that God would bless and protect us from these events. Bend our knees, bow our heads, and beg for His forgiveness. For we have offended the God who has given us life, and brought us to this place in time and space.

Return to the covenant of our Fathers. So that we will once again walk according to YHVH’s Word.

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
24He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father who sent Me.”
(John 14:23, 24)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

The Covenant must come first!

Joshua 3:1 Then Joshua rose early in the morning; and they set out from £Acacia Grove and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they crossed over.
2 So it was, after three days, that the officers went through the camp;
3 and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.
4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.”
5 And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”
6 Then Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over before the people.” So, they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people.

The Ark of the Covenant went across the Jordan first. As Joshua and His men deployed against Jericho. They were going to fight to gain the land that YHVH God had promised them, and God went with them.

The Ark of the Covenant went before them and was representative of the power of the Covenant made between them and YHVH God. This should tell us something of how God works among His people.

He is the boss! We will either do things according to His way, or we take our chances without His help.

Now Israel had agreed to keep covenant with YHVH. And as long as they did, He would be there for them. But they must not violate this Covenant agreement, for when they do, He will depart from them, and they will not be able to walk in His Power.

So, sending the Ark across first is to remind them of YHVH’s commitment to fight for them and to give them victory. And so, an army of righteous men who were keeping covenant with YHVH, followed the Ark of the Covenant into battle.

Joshua 3:9 So Joshua said to the children of Israel, “Come here, and hear the words of the Lord your God.”
10 And Joshua said, “By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that He will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Hivites and the Perizzites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Jebusites:
11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is crossing over before you into the Jordan.
12 Now therefore, take for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one man from every tribe.
13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap.”

When the feet of the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant touched the waters of the Jordan the water rolled back and gave them dry ground on which to cross over.

Starting out with a miracle let’s them know that God is signifying His presence is with them. And I would Imagine that was a wonderful boost to their faith, as they head off to war with a great fortified city with huge walls.

Joshua 3:14 So it was, when the people set out from their camp to cross over the Jordan, with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people,
15 and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest),
16 that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So, the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho.
17 Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.

As long as the Priests stood there the Ark held back the water, and the Army of the people of Israel crossed over. They were going to fight a battle that they could not lose, because YHVH God was with them and His power was obvious at this point.

By the same token Israel will fight wars in the future in that God will not fight for them, and the evidence of that is in their defeat.

So clearly, there’s a difference between winning and losing with Yahovah God. When Israel played the harlot, and its people were bowing down to idols, and breaking covenant with YHVH God, they would suffer loss and humility.

But when they obeyed God, they could not be defeated.

This should be a clear message to those who are seriously entertaining the thoughts of fighting a war, especially one that brings us in conflict with God’s own enemies.

Until we return to covenant with Yahovah, there will be no victory. We can hope, and pray, moan, and cry, all we want. But until we obey, it shall not be!

No matter how angry we are, or how right we think we are. We will find that until we return to God in earnest, There will be no escaping the oppression of our enemies.

YHVH will protect His remnant, but the rest will not have a chance. They will never get beyond defending themselves, and sadly, they will not be able to do that successfully.

But if we want to be victorious, The covenant must come first. And if our commitment to God goes before us, He will fight for us, and we can take on the most powerful enemies in the World. The godless won’t stand a chance, because They have chosen to come against YHVH God, and His people.

When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2nd Chronicles 7:13, 14)

If we want YHVH to help us recover what is ours, then we must humble ourselves and pray, and return to the Way, the Truth, and the Life, that Y’shua is.

4“Hear, O Israel: YHVH our Elohim, is one!
5You shall love YHVH with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” (Deuteronomy 6:4, 5)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

The Word of God ought to unite us!

1st Corinthians 1:10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name Y’shua / Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.
12 Now I say this, that each of you says, “I am of Paul,” or “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas,” or “I am of Christ.”
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

I am Here to say today, that while Paul is an excellent teacher, and very knowledgeable with regard to the Word of God, He would never contend with Christ Y’shua.

Let me give an example, When I tell someone that the Messiah came preaching that we ought to Keep the Commandments, and that to fail to do so is lawlessness, or sin. They go running to Paul’s epistles to refute the Word of God. saying that we are no longer under the Law.

They do not understand Paul, because they take His words out of context, and because Paul is difficult to understand anyway, especially for someone who doesn’t know what Paul knew. They stumble at several scriptures.

The apostle Peter spoke of this in His epistle. Saying, “Consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.” (2nd Peter 3:15, 16)

Speakin of Paul, here is a man who as a former Pharisee, had a handle on doctrine that we could not possible understand, and as a student who studied under Gamaliel, in order to be accepted in that school, He was requires to commit to memory the whole first five book of the Bible. Yes, what Paul knew about the Hebrew scriptures would be mind boggling for any of us.

But let us not forget who Messiah is. And who suffered and died so that we could live. So let us put things in their proper order, so that we can find those things that will unite us in Christ, and not separate us.

For Paul said, “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name Y’shua / Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.”
(Vs 10, 11)

I remember when I was growing up in the Baptist Church, that what I heard almost without fail every Sunday was taught from Paul’s epistles, and much of it was incorrect.

We were taught that there would be a rapture, when there has never been a prophecy of such an event. And there’s no direct word from the scriptures that indicates that Christ will come more than once more.

We were taught that once we were saved, we could not lose our salvation. Once saved always saved, is man’s doctrine, not truth!

Yet the apostle Peter says, For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of Y’shua / Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.
21For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
22But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”
(2nd Peter 2:20-22)

And then Paul says, “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
13for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”
(Philippians 2:12, 13)

If Salvation is a done deal, why then do we have to work at it?

We need to be really careful of what men have determined to be doctrine, for the mishandling of Paul’s epistles have let us paint ourselves into a doctrinal corner. And a prime example of that is that doctrine saying that the Commandments have been abolished at the cross. That simply is not logical, and more than that, it is a direct contradiction of Christ’s own words.

Paul would never contradict His Savior. And if we believe that this is true then he contradicts His own words.

For He said, “Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.” (Romans 7:12)

And we find that YHVH God has promised, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds, I will write them,” (Hebrews 10:16)

If God is abolishing the Commandments, then why would He inscribe them on our hearts? And if He inscribed them there, why then do we resist them? Except that Perhaps that in truth, we are lost, and refuse to be found.

Isn’t it time that those of us who will be among His Sheep, begin to obey the Shepherd? What in the World do we have to lose, by at the very least, trying to keep the Commandments of God?

The Apostle John has said, “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”
(1st John 5:1-4)

There are two sides to every disagreement, when it comes to Scripture. The Saved and the unsaved, and the righteous, and the unrighteous.

Let us all come together in unityfor there is no division in the body of Christ.

26For you are all sons of God through faith in Y’shua / Christ Jesus.
27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Y’shua / Christ Jesus.
29And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
(Galatians 3:26-28)

Let me remind you, that Y’shua was a keeper of God’s law, had he not been, He would not have been a fit sacrifice for the sins of the world. For He is the lamb of God, unblemished and acceptable to God the Father.

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. (1st John 2:6)
