Are we fully prepared?

Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.
15 For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.
16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants, I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath:  Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
21 And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

Peter filled with the Holy Spirit, quotes the prophet Joel. (Joel 2:28-32) He explains that those who are saved or have set foot on the path to salvation will have received the Spirit of Truth. But apparently that Spirit does not come to many of those who are filling the pews of our churches today. If the holy Spirit was present, they would not be arguing against God’s Law, and contradicting even the Words of Christ Himself.

So how is it that we must change in order to receive the Holy Spirit?

The answer is simple.

Remember the words of Christ when he said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
(John 14:15-17)

He ties the giving of the Holy Spirit to the Keeping of God’s law. And neither one is possible without loving Him.

We need to be careful about preaching Paul’s writings, and ignoring what Christ said. Understand that Paul would never contradict Christ Yehoshua. Therefore, we need to validate every word Paul speaks against the Living Word of God, for Paul is the bond servant of Christ, not the inverse of that.

But back to the topic at hand, unless we are willing to have a loving relationship with Christ, validated by our obedience to the Commandments, how is it possible to have His Spirit in us?

“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

Wake up, your eternal life is in Christ, and no other.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

This is the one most important thing that we must accomplish before he comes. And most assuredly He is coming. God help those who are found without His Spirit when he does come! Are you fully prepared to receive your King?

Why is it that we do not know, and are not aware that we will be judged by the very same Commandments that He fully exemplified, and taught?

And why is it that Christians are not able to name the 10 Commandments? is it any wonder that they cannot keep them?

And if we’re not keeping them, how is it that we will be able to enter the Kingdom of God who gave us His Word and Covenant promise?

Remember the Words of Christ Y’shua, “‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:23) He was speaking to those who called Him Lord, And thought they were a part of His Church. But if you asked any of them to name the Ten Commandments, they would not have been able to, for they were indeed Lawless.

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. (James 2:10)

If I were you, I would open my bible to Exodus 20:1-17 and memorize those few verses.

I remember a time when I thought I knew the commandments, until Y’shua spoke to me by His Spirit, and asked me why I didn’t honor His Sabbath?

I had completely omitted the 4th Commandment and didn’t realize it until He pointed it out to me. And so, I now bring it to you, so that you may benefit from my mistake.

Do not be found Lawless in His presence, for these commandments will be His criteria for judgment.

14Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
15But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
(Revelation 22:14, 15)

Please do not be left outside, and do not believe the lie, that we do not have to keep God’s Commandments. For who does not know, or realize, that He will not judge by grace on that fateful day, but by His commandments.
