Few are Chosen.

Exodus 20:18 Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.
19 Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.”
20 And Moses said to the people, “Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.”
21 So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.

This must have been some spectacle, but it definitely put the fear of God in the Children of Israel.

Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. (Vs 18)

They were scared out of their wits. Not that Hebrews are so high strung, but if I were standing with them, I would have been shaken too.

To hear of Yahovah is one thing, but to actually experience His presence is another. For His presence, causes the earth to shake, and the ground to move under our feet, add to that thunder, and lightening, and the sound of the Shofar (Trumpet), along with a voice that shakes you to the core. Yes, they were afraid.

“The fear of YHVH is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10)

When we come to that place where we understand that He who created us, will judge us on the basis of what we have done with our lives. We also will fear for our lives. For it’s one thing to try to understand what holiness is, but to stand before Him, is to compare ourselves to that which is pure holiness.

Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.” (Vs 19)

So rattled were they, that they didn’t want to hear God’s voice any more. But preferred to hear Moses. Therefore, Moses would be the voice of God to them, as long as he lives.

And Moses said to the people, “Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.” (Vs 20)

Moses explains why YHVH spoke to them, and appeared to them. He came purposely to put fear into them, so that they would not sin. But Moses was not fearful, for He knew that He was chosen, to serve YHVH, He had been near enough to YHVH God to actually see His image.  No! Moses was completely given over to God, and was His instrument to redeem the Children of Israel and bring them out of bondage. It was as if He was a part of YHVH God.

So, the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was. (Vs 21)

Moses, from the time He drew near to the burning bush, had no life of His own.

Here is where the line is drawn between the average Christian, and those who are actually called to serve YHVH God. A man called of God, and chosen to serve Him, will actually seek Him out, and draw near to Him. But those who have not yet sought to be Holy, just as He is Holy. They might rather stay at a distance from YHVH, at least until they begin to feel as though they may be acceptable to Him.

“For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14)

But to those who strive to serve YHVH God as Moses served, my heart is with them. For they have no life of their own, but all of their life is dedicated to others. All they desire from life is just to be near to God, our Elohim.

If we will serve YHVH God, ought we not consider these things, who is called of God, and who is chosen to serve Him.

We must come to understand that a life of our own is not going to be possible, and take these things into consideration. That YHVH God, sent us into this World, with a calling. He knew us and gave us a holy purpose before we were born into this world. And as we grow and develop in this World, His hand remains on us, until we remember what it is that we were called to do.

Were we called or were we chosen? Only the person who rises up to serve YHVH God can answer that question. For He will surrender everything, even His life. to YHVH God, and live for Him and Him only.

Christ Himself will come to reside in this person.

Truly we will love one another, and give themselves away, just as Yehoshua loved us, and gave himself for us.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of  God.
(Romans 12:1, 2)

We will know whether we were called of God, or chosen by God, and it will be evidenced by the events of our lives. For we will bear witness in a way that will bring many to His cross.

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; (John 15:5)

The need for change!

Matthew 13:41 “The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

At the conclusion of the parable of the sower, Y’shua explains to His disciples that the basis for the separation of the wheat from the tares is Lawlessness. For they offend YHVH God in that they have no righteousness in what they do.

“The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,” (Vs 41)

Sin is Lawlessness, and those who are lawless offend YHVH God and this has always been the means of separating the good souls from the wicked. Thus, when judgment comes, this will be the one means of weighing who is YAH’s Child and who is of Satan. Therefore, who lives and who dies is determined by the difference between those who are lawful and those who are not.

1st John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.
6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

So, we have had our sins forgiven by Y’shua, because we have asked to be forgiven, and believing in faith have declared that we will follow Him. But then, do we really do what we say we will do, or are we lawless. (Living in sin.)

How is it possible to follow Y’shua Christ the Messiah, and also continue sinning? Is that not treading on the very blood that was shed to make our salvation possible?

How offensive is that, to a just and righteous God?

20For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Messiah and Savior (Y’shua / Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.
21For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
22But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”
(2nd Peter 2:20-22)

Lawlessness Is the culprit and the telltale sign that we are falsely saved. And here is why I am forever preaching the commandments of YHVH God the Father. And why the Sabbath is so vital to our being lawful followers of Christ Y’shua, who also taught the Law.

Y’shua said His angels will collect the lawless, “and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” (Vs 42)

These wanna-be believers, are revealed in the light of their lawlessness as phony Christians, who are simply using Christ as fire insurance. But it will not work.

Therefore, there’s great disappointment, for they believe that they’re headed for heaven, but are instead being hauled off to the furnace. Thus, the anger, and upset they feel at their being weeded out from the lawful, and their upset is real and acute.

But we need to remember how many times we were warned by Y’shua Himself, and this warning tells the whole story, He said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
(Matthew 7:21-23)

Those who actually do God’s will, and live accordingly, will be welcomed into the Kingdom of Elohim.

Notice that the very last word that determines their unfaithfulness and unworthiness before Him, is lawlessness. and because they have disregarded His Law, He turns from them as if they do not exist.

“Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Vs 43)

This is fair warning my friends, Keep the 4th Commandment, His Sabbath, Keep His appointed times, and do not take lightly the Commandments to not lie, steal, murder, or be sexually immoral. Walk upright before Him so that He will recognize us as His Flock in those last days.

I will see Him sooner than most of you, and as I write about this issue, I am concerned that I am fit to be called by His holy name, For I am a sinner. But I know that I must repent daily, for I have sin in my life that must be forgiven, and I know that I must change.

Thank YHVH God that I have a savior that Hears when we do humble ourselves and turn to Him for forgiveness.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23)

It only takes a moment to come to our knees and ask to be forgiven, and announce our desire to change. This is what repentance is all about, our desire to be transformed into creatures that reflect the true Image of Christ, isn’t that true?

Y’shua said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

If we truly love Him, we will allow Him to change us, mold and shape us, into His disciples, conforming to His Word and His will. Will we not?

Truth is of the Holy Spirit.

John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”

How important is the truth? It is surely vital to the way of Christ, and the life of Christ Y’shua. For how is it that we can walk in His ways, and be a liar? And how can we emulate the life of Christ, and not be in possession of the truth?

It cannot happen without the truth, and so He says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (Vs 6)

How can we enter the kingdom without the truth? And How can we approach the Father without Y’shua to bring us to the Father?

And so Y’shua says, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” (Vs 7)

It’s as if to say, having known me, you have come to know the Father!

This is what the truth does, it reveals things to us that perhaps we had refused to hear before the truth came to us.

He also said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you
. (John 14:15-17)

Here is what is remarkable to me, when we make a commitment to keep His Commandments, loving Him. He promises that we will be given an indwelling Spirit of Truth. We will have something of him, the truth, living inside of us.

When we love him enough to keep His commandments this Spirit comes and guides us through the mine field of lies and deception that the enemy has sown into our lives on this Earth.

Y’shua promises, “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:18)

This is the very thing that separates us from the rest of the world, The difference between lies and the truth. This is so important to us, especially now. For Satan is coming at us in earnest, and sowing lies as he comes. And those who are not blessed with the Spirit of Truth, will not know what to believe, and what is garbage.

Here is exactly why so many have followed Government mandates, rather than the truth. They do not have benefit of the Spirit of truth residing in them.

And why? simply because they never surrendered to Christ Y’shua.

“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
(John 8:31, 32)

So, are we His disciples, or are we just keeping a pew warm for someone who is?

In any case, I believe I would rather stand before my king having kept His Commandments, rather than being laid bare as disobedient.

The Apostle Paul tells us, “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”  (2nd Thessalonians 2:9, 10)

We need to make certain of the way in which we walk, The truth will come to us, in spite of the false doctrine we have been taught, Because we have His Spirit.

The Apostle John says, He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
6He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
(1st John 2:4-6)

The Word was God!

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’”
16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.

Is the Messiah human, or is He God incarnate? Did God Himself come to live amongst His people or was Christ simply a man under the influence of YHVH God?

According to John He is God. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
 (Vs 1-3)

Sometimes We see The Messiah / Christ as God incarnate, and sometimes we don’t, and it seems that our doctrine is the cause of it. There are certain things He said that we don’t want to believe, because we see Yehoshua as separate from the Father.

How can that be, when we know full well that Y’shua / Jesus is the living Word of God?

And Christ Himself identified as being one and the same as YHVH God saying, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” (John 14:7)

According to the living Word of God, He is one and the same as the Father.

John 14:9 “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.
11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

And He said, “I and My Father are one.” (John 10:30)

Being one, is being the same as God, there is no separation. Though He is part man, I.E., born of a woman. He is God in the Spirit, and while this seems to be difficult for a human to grasp, those who are in the Spirit can understand it, because this same Holy Spirit is operating in us. As much as we allow it!

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
(Vs 4-11)

Unbelief is the cause of our misunderstanding of who He is, and also our ignorance of what He said, and why. If we believed this one thing, that Christ the Messiah of Israel is indeed one with YHVH God the Father, then He is God. Not some anomaly, or freak of nature, but a manifestation of God the Father, come to bring those who are lost back into God’s Kingdom.

So here is just one example of what unbelief does to our understanding of who and what the Word of God is.

Y’shua said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
(John 14:15-17)

He ties the keeping of His Commandments to the giving of the Holy Spirit. But Many of us have ignored this, and why? Because we want to believe that He has made commandments other than the Fathers Law. This cannot be!

And here is why, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father who sent Me.”
 (John 14:23, 24)

Yehoshua said, “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.
49For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.
50And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.
” (John 12:48-50)

Until we understand that Christ Yehoshua is God, and accept that what He tells us is the Word of God. Then we will not be able to Walk in the Way, nor the truth, nor will we enter the life that He taught. We are required to have enough faith to believe He is both God, and the Son of God, without that faith we will fall short of the mark.

Whoever believes that Y’shua / Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
(1st John 5:1-5)

Understand that when we try to separate Y’shua from God the father, that he is no longer the God of Heaven and Earth, to us. God gave us these Words to make certain that we understand this one thing.

4“Hear, O Israel: YHVH is our Elohim, YHVH our Elohim is one!
5You shall love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Shalom my friends,

Ask a Simple Question.

The simplest way to evangelize that I know of, doesn’t require that you be a Bible scholar. It doesn’t require that you engage in arguments about whether or not there is a God, or if even if the Bible is true. This method is based on bypassing human intelligence, and heading straight for the conscience. It’s called the Way of the Master because it’s based on what Jesus / Y’shua did, and the apostles as well.

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; (Psalms 19:7)

You see, God gave every man a conscience, therefore he knows even if he has never heard the gospel that it is wrong to lie, wrong to steal, wrong to want another man’s wife.

Let’s look at what Paul said in his letter to the Roman church, “for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.” (Romans 2:14-16)

The word conscience literally means Con = with, science = knowledge. So, when we sin according to Paul, we do so with the knowledge that we have sinned against YHVH God.

So, knowing this, I simply ask the appropriate questions of the person to whom I want to bring to the cross.

1st Question: Do you have a Christian background? If he or she, does they will tell you.

2nd Question: Would you consider yourself to be a good person? Most people will respond with a resounding yes! Although the scriptures tell us that there’s none good but one, and that’s the Lord.

3rd Question: Do you live according to the Ten Commandments? You will more than likely get answers like, I try, or sure. But rest assured, most people cannot even name these Ten Laws, much less live by them.

4th Question: would you mind if I asked you a few questions to see if you really are a good person? Most people in their pride will say, “Sure, ask away.”

5th Question: Have you ever told a lie? Most likely the response is yes.

6th Question: what does that make you? The appropriate answer is: A liar! If that answer is not forthcoming then say, if I told you a lie what would I be? So, How many lies do I have to tell to be a liar?

7th Question: Have you ever stolen anything? If there’s no admission remind them that anything covers even a dime. Taking 30 minutes when you have a 15-minute break is stealing from your employer. Borrowing and not returning, or finding something and not trying to return it to its owner.

8th Question: If we steal what does that make us? A thief!

9th Question: Have you ever looked at someone with lust or desire for them?

Jesus said, “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” (Matthew 5: 28) I haven’t had very many say no, to this.

Having admitted by our own lips that we are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart, when we stand before Him in judgment, will he find us guilty or innocent on that fateful day.

Most will acknowledge their guilt at this point.

11th Question: if we’re found guilty would we be going to heaven or hell?

If the answer is Hell, then I will ask another question.

12: Doesn’t that concern you? It concerns me! because I have to care for you the same way Y’shua Christ cares for me.

This is why Christ died on the cross for us, to take the punishment for our sins. But in order to take advantage of his grace, we need to acknowledge our sin, and repent, ashamed of what we have done.

Repentance means to turn away from our sins and follow Christ. When we acknowledge Him as our savior, and call on Him to come into our lives, Then and only then, will we become like new, Born Again! Free from our burden of sin.

If Christ Yehoshua has Granted us forgiveness for our sins, Then does it stop there? What about our neighbor? We are to love our neighbor, aren’t we? Do not allow others to face Judgment in ignorance of these things.

“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so, you will be My disciples.
9“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.
10If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” (John 15:8-10)

So really, if we are truly saved, wouldn’t we want the same for others?

The Prophet Ezekiel reveals to us that YHVH God has said, “When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.
9Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.”
(Ezekiel 33:8, 9)

We will suffer, for all of the times when we failed to call others to repentance, knowing that they will die in their sins. In these last days, our testimony is needed.

Shalom my friends.
