Take a lesson from Noah, and live!

Genesis 8:6 So it came to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.
7 Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.
8 He also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground.
9 But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So, he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself.
10 And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark.
11 Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.
12 So he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore.
13 And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry.
14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.
15 Then God spoke to Noah, saying,
16 “Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.
17 Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you: birds and cattle and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, so that they may abound on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”
18 So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.
19 Every animal, every creeping thing, every bird, and whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went out of the ark.
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21 And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.”

Noah wanted to know after quite some time had passed if there had been a receding of the waters, so he sends out both a raven and a dove. And there was no indication of an abating of the flood waters yet. But 7 days later, he sends the dove out again and success, the dove returns with an olive branch.

So it came to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.
Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.
He also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground.
But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So, he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself.

And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark.
Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.
So, he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore.
 (Vs 6-12)

So finally, the dove flew away and did not return. This tells Noah, that there’s dry ground enough for the dove to nest and feed.

And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry.
And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.
(Vs 13, 14)

After being in the Ark for 5 months, finally they settle on solid ground. But they did not leave the Ark until YHVH God told them to. Noah walked with God and obeyed His every Word.

So, the Families of Noah’s clan came out of the Ark, and also the animals.

Then God spoke to Noah, saying,
“Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.
Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you: birds and cattle and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, so that they may abound on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”
So. Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.
Every animal, every creeping thing, every bird, and whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went out of the ark.
(Vs 15-19)

Those who worked evil are dead now, and their bones are covered by the mud. We need to understand that the difference in this case, is between those who kept God’s Law, and those who didn’t.

This is the cause of their deaths, and Yahovah cleansed the earth of those who did not either keep Yahovah’s Commandments, or teach them. Therefore, they had no relationship with God, they made themselves separate from their creator, and because were lawless. Thus, they became nothing more than fertilizer.

“Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known. (Deuteronomy 11:26-28)

The error of their ways was deadly, and unforgivable, for neither did they repent, or regret their ways. They had chosen to follow another God, and it was the same god that has always led God’s children to disregard and disobey Him. We know Him as the Lawless one, or the Anti-Christ, that would be HaSatan.

Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
(Vs 20)

Here is the difference between Noah and His Family, and those who are dead, when they leave the Ark, Noah’s first concern is the God who had preserved their lives. He builds an altar, and makes sacrifice unto His Lord and Master, and YHVH God receives it. A soothing aroma!

Here is the Promise He makes at that time. And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.” (Vs 21)

So, we needn’t concern ourselves about the Earth being covered by flood ever again. But we will be visited by God’s wrath, and that is already happening now. There will no lawless flesh that will survive either the wrath of God or His judgment.

The best that a lawless person can hope for, is time to repent and regret their lawlessness, thus throwing themselves on the mercy of the court of judgment. (Yahoshua)

And then to learn to live according to the Way of Christ.

For did Yehoshua Christ not say, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

Take a lesson from Noah, and live!

Are we inside or outside of The Ark?

Genesis 7:17 Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.
18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters.
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered.
20 The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered.
21 And all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man.
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died.
23 So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive.
24 And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days.

Nosh was 500 years old when the flood came. I can just imagine the excitement when the Ark was lifted from its resting place.

Now the flood was on the earth forty days.
(Vs 17-20)

All flesh died, none survived, neither man nor beast. And Noah and His family were at sea, along with a huge vessel full of various kinds of animals.

(Vs 21-23)

I remember thinking about how if a man could bring a child into this world who was disobedient, He surely could take them out. But I never really wanted to act on that. But here we see how the enemy, HaSatan, operates. He leads us into evil deeds so that YHVH God rejects us. and then we die and our reward is death and not life.

Here is the reward that Yehoshua will bring upon the Children of the Lawless one. And on the other side of it will be the reward that brings life eternal.

He said, “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
(Revelation 22:12, 13)

And the reward is eternal death for those who will not Keep God’s Word, the Torah. And eternal life rewards those who do.

The Ark of the righteous, is Christ Yehoshua himself.

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
(Revelation 22:13, 14)

While we are brought inside, just as Noah and His family were inside of the Ark. And left outside we see those who will not live, but waste away.

Immorality, witchcraft, sexually immoral, murderers, and idolators, are separated out, and marked for death. Without God they have nowhere to go. For their whole life was built on the same lie that HaSatan told in the garden. And that lie is, that we don’t have to obey God, but can do as we will.

Thus, we will to do evil in the sight of God, when we could have done so much good.

For “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
  (1st Peter 3:10-12)

We have it in us to change, but only those of us who have a heart for Christ Yehoshua will actually act on this opportunity to repent, and begin to walk according to the truth.

There has always been a remnant!

11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
13 And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
14 Make yourself an Ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the Ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
15 And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
16 You shall make a window for the Ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.
17 And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die.
18 But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.
19 And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.
20 Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive.
21 And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them.”
22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.

Christ Yehoshua tells us that it will be like it was in the days of Noah, when He comes again.

Matthew 23:36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

YHVH God is going to destroy the World as we know it, for the same reasons He gave to Noah. So, when Christ comes there will have been terrible destruction over the entire earth. However, not by flood this time, but by fire.

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
So, God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
(Vs 11-13)

Now when He had spoken to Noah, He cited the reasons for this time of wrath.

The Earth is filled with violence? It sounds a lot like today, doesn’t it?

Thus, God picked Noah as His remnant.

5Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
7So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
8But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
9This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.
10And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
(Genesis 6:5-10)

God chose Noah because in spite of being surrounded by evil, He was a just man and walked with God. In other words, Noah kept God’s Laws, and grace was applied.

So, the instructions were given to Noah, to build an Ark. The Meaning of the word. “Ark” is a box or container. In other words, this ship is going to be a container of life.

Make yourself an Ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the Ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
You shall make a window for the Ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.
(Vs 14-16)

So YHVH God’s way of preserving His remnant is a floating Ark. And He instructs Noah in how to build it. And then what to do with it. And just as in those days, we can be certain that He is doing the same thing now, encouraging us to prepare for this time of destruction.

And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die.
But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall go into the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.
(Vs 17, 18)

It will be those who are keeping His Covenant / Commandments that will be hand-picked to receive His instructions. With regard to what to do and how to do it. For they will survive the wrath of YHVH God, and receive grace just as Noah did.

And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.
Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind, and of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive.
And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them.”
(Vs 19-21)

The instructions are exact, when it comes to carrying out God’s Will, and our instructions will be exactly the same. He is preparing His people now, but only those who are keeping covenant with Him, will see life on the other side of these events.

Even as we speak, those who are keeping Covenant with YHVH God, are preparing their own Ark, storing food, keeping livestock, and making plans to operate outside of the World as we know it.

In conclusion let me say that if we want to remain alive on this earth the first order of business is to adapt our lives to YHVH God and begin to follow the example in Christ that we were so blessed to observe. For He not only kept the Law, but He taught it throughout His ministry. He kept the Father’s Sabbath faithfully, according to the scriptures. Those of us who bear His Spirit will follow this path without error, for it is by the Holy Spirit that we are led, and the voice of almighty God resounds in our minds. Listen to that voice for the lives of His remnant depend on it now.

Thus, Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did. (Vs 22)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

If we love Him, we will live for Him!

So, He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone. Deuteronomy 4:13

How long has it been since we have heard anyone preach to us the Ten Commandments?

And how long has it been since we heard that the Commandments were abolished at the cross?

This is the result of a priesthood that is avoiding the Covenant with God rather than keeping it. For if the Commandments are dead why would God write them on our hearts?

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” (Hebrews 8:10)

God’s Law is always going to be in place because we need to know how to approach Him.

Micah 4:1 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and peoples shall flow to it.
2 Many nations shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.” for out of Zion the law shall go forth, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Here we are given a glance of how it will be during the thousand-year reign of Christ; He will be teaching the Law from His throne room. But consider why Christ would be teaching commandments that were abolished at the cross?

Is it possible that someone is lying? And what would be their motive? Here Christ has spent 3 years walking all over Israel teaching God’s Law, We hear it in the sermon on the mount, with the woman at the well, and with the rich young ruler. We also hear it in His words to us, His disciples, when He says, “If you love me keep my Commandments.” (John 14:15) And again in John 14:21, He ties our obedience to loving Him, and makes this the basis for relationship.

So why are these lies being told even from the pulpit of our churches.

It has been Satan’s plan from the beginning to undermine the priesthood and our faith, even from the very beginning when He told Adam and Eve, that they need not obey God, and encouraged them to taste of what was forbidden.

Now we hear the same message from those who have allowed Satan to have His voice heard through them. Do not listen to this garbage, But follow Christ and do as He did!

We were warned, several times and in several ways.

And the Apostle Paul made this very clear.

3Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of £sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
4who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits £as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

5Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?
6And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.
7For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only £He who now restrains will do so until £He is taken out of the way.
8And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (2nd Thessalonians 2:3-10)

11And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

We are supposed to follow Christ Yehoshua, but understand that we are set aside for salvation even though we may not have kept the Law of God. But we need to understand that He will bring us into obedience to the Commandments by the Spirit, and we will keep it, not because it saves us, but because it’s what saved people do. they live to please God.

Did Yehoshua not say, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’” (Matthew 22:37)

Shalom my friends,

Choosing Barabbas.

Matthew 27:15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished.
16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.
17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.
19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.
21 The governor answered and said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!”
22 Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”
23 Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”
24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this £just Person. You see to it.”
25 And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.”

When given a choice between the Messiah, and a common criminal, a murderer. The Jews chose the criminal, “Barabbas!”

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished.
16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.
17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”
18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.
(Vs 15-18)

He knew that the Jews main problem with Messiah was one of envy, for at every juncture Yehoshua demonstrated the power of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit, of which they had none. Nor did they care to have His Spirit, except for a few, like Nicodemus.

If there was any descent, it was shouted down by the Pharisees, and their followers.

While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”
But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.
The governor answered and said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!”
(Vs 19-21)

Clearly it was as if they could not see or hear Yehoshua, or anything He taught during His few months of ministry. He in almost every encounter with this bunch of phony Priests, saw hardened hearts, that had no love about them. All He got from them was envy and opposition. Yehoshua the Messiah, was everything they weren’t, and He was acquiring a huge following, this they could not allow, because it weakened their hold on the people.

22 Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”
23 Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”

Pilate wants to avoid taking the blame for the death of Yehoshua. So, He lets the Chief Priest and elders assume the blame. For they required the blood of Messiah, and Pilate allowed it, and he acquests to their demands.

So, Barabbas was released and Christ goes to the cross, just as He had said He would.

And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.
But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
(Mark 8:31-33)

He told them on several occasions that this would happen, and that He would rise again after 3 days in the tomb. But that does not alleviate the blame, does it? And it was the Children of Israel who had sunk so low that they could not accept their own Messiah, even after many prophets had foretold His coming.

24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.”
25 And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.”

Now Christ’s blood is on them, and until they repent, nothing will change as far as having to answer for it. Not just the Jews, or Pharisees, but every person who has crucified Christ, and rejected His gospel.

And unfortunately, this will include those who have rejected His teaching of God’s Law, which He taught throughout His ministry, for without the Law there is an incomplete gospel.

So, for those who have refused to hear it, and have run to Paul twisting his words in order to refute the Law / God’s Word, they’ll answer for it at judgment. Those who are violating God’s commandments, like His Sabbath (4th Commandment) they have chosen Barabbas, and crucified Christ.

Those who have chosen to keep Pagan traditions rather than God’s ordained feast days, are treading on the same ground.

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
(Matthew 5:17-20)

According to Messiah’s own words, they shall not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. For righteousness is not possible without the Commandments.

Some may scoff at this writing, but know that according to God’s Word, those who do, shall not live. For your Savior is the one they released at His crucifixion, Barabbas!

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

Let your light Shine!

Matthew 10:34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.
35For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’;
36and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’
37He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
39He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
40“He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.
41He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
42And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”
Anyone who has come over to the belief that we should be keeping the Commandments of YHVH God will know what Y’shua is talking about here.

For when we depart the Sunday go to meeting crowd, there’s a huge gulf of misunderstanding between our former brethren, and those of us who have crossed over.

For they do not keep God’s Sabbath, nor do they teach the whole of God’s Law. As a result, their understanding will not allow them to return to the truth of God’s word, and when they see the comparison exemplified before them the reaction is apt to be one of anger.

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.
For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’”
(Vs 34-36)

Many of my friends because of their awakening have arrived at this juncture. Where even parents and siblings come against us, angry and upset. And why is it so? It is because they only had one way to embrace Christ, and now they see another path. This makes them fearful, because the notion that they may be wrong about the truth is unacceptable to them.

And no one will get angry with anyone unless they first become fearful. And this what happens when the light comes, darkness is always fearful of the light, for light is the death of darkness. Here is why there’s conflict between those who have not yet come into the light, but remain on the dark side.

This doesn’t stop us from loving them, it just brings to light an obstacle to unity / family. Truly the sword that Yehoshua Christ spoke of is unsheathed, merely because of the light.

He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
“He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.
(Vs 37-40)

So, the net result is that many of us have found ourselves ostracized by family, because we are full of God’s word, and that brings fear.

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:38)

We cannot help it or control it, the light of life will pour itself out in just our presence with those who have believed the lies. They can see that we go to worship on the Sabbath, they see our tzetses’, they also see that we keep Biblical feasts, and avoid Christmas, and Easter, etc. All of this brings into question everything they do in Church, and magnifies Satan’s lies.

Thus, we may see a good bit of conflict, and rejection. But this must happen for the glory of Y’shua. We must walk according to His Way, His Truth, and His Life. We are that living testimony, that brings eternal life.

But now, not everyone is going to reject us offhand. Some will ask questions about our faith, and we must be prepared to answer them, in as gentle a way as possible. So get familiar with those scriptures that will support your life style and give understanding.

(Vs 41-42)

Those who accept us, and fellowship with us, will have their reward.

Remember what Y’shua said about His Family when they were outside waiting for Him while He was ministering to a packed house?

He said, 46While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him.
47Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.”
48But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?”
49And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!
50For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”
(Matthew 12:46-50)

Here is what we are left with, we must follow Y’shua’s model, not just for our own sakes, but for the sake of those who can see our testimony. Nothing is more important in these last days.

Abba has given us a testimony for a purpose, let your light shine!

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
(Matthew 5:14-16)

Shalom my friends,

The way of Truth.

5This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
6If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
(1st John 1:5-7)

Salvation is the cleansing of sin and the absolution of those things that we did while we walked in darkness.

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. (Vs 5)

Picture A light, that is so bright that no darkness can encroach upon it, for what does light do, but it dispels darkness, and it dies and fades away.

God is light and there is no darkness anywhere in His milieu.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.  (Vs 6)

Practicing the truth is paramount to walking in the light, and those who have been forgiven have a chance to walk in the light, just as Yehoshua did. Thus, we have an example to follow.

Did not Paul say? “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.” (1st Corinthians 11:1)

And Christ said, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.” (John 14:23, 24)

Christ is the model that we must follow in order to be in the light, as He is in the light.

The Apostle John said, “But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
(1st John 2:5, 6)

This is why I have been telling my friends that we need to return to the Commandments of God, because that’s how Yehoshua lived, and as we follow Him, then we must be waking in the Way, the Truth, and the Life, that our salvation leads us to.

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (Vs 7)

This is what saved people do, they walk in the light, just as Christ did, for we are to be like Him, are we not?

Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

The call of YHVH God, is not for the faint hearted!

Luke 1:8 So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division,
9 according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
10 And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense.
11 Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
14 And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.
15 For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.
16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God.
17 He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

Zacharias was visited by an angel while He was serving in the Temple as a priest. It was his job to burn incense to Yahovah, and while incense was being burnt people would come and pray. So, there were many people praying at this moment.

So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, according to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
And the whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense.
(Vs 8-10)

Here is where the term “Holy Smoke” comes from people thought that prayer and the smoke from incense was a carrier of prayers. So, they came to pray at that time.

Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.
(Vs 11-13)

Elizabeth was advanced in her year and was well beyond child bearing years. So, Zacharias had difficulty believing she would bear him a son. And He told the Angel that he had difficulty believing this.

He said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”
19And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings.
20But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”
(Luke 1:18-20)

If any of us are visited by an angel, we need to not disbelieve the Words of that messenger, and if we learn anything from Zacharias’s experience, let it be that one thing, do not receive the Word of God with unbelief.

What better place to receive a visitation of an Angel, but in the Temple of YHVH God? And the message He brought was astounding.

And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.
For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.
(Vs 14, 15)

Who in this world, does not know who John the Baptist is? He is known all over the world as the ultimate evangelical preacher, and the model for all who have been called into the ministry.

And if the same Spirit is in you, you’ll be a magnet for souls who are driven to know the truth, about the coming of the Messiah, and who and what He is.

“And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God.
He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

The Spirit of John the Baptist, is no different than that of Elijah, and Christ Himself said that that is who John is.

He said, A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
For this is he of whom it is written: Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You.’
“Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come.
He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
(Matthew 11:9-15)

Let’s review what has been said here, we have seen that being called of YHVH God comes even before birth, and the purpose of our calling is holy and known to us in the Spirit even as we are formed and shaped by God in our mother’s womb.

Even if we resist, that calling will come to the surface in our lives, and the purpose of it. And this happens when we reach that point in life where we begin to ask, why Lord? Why am I alive? And to what purpose am I here, taking up space on this earth. Once we begin to look for purpose, it will be revealed to us, probably in a dream or vision. But once we know, then we must rise to it. And if we have answered our calling, then we will do exactly as John the Baptist did, and prepare our followers for the coming of Yehoshua. Instructing them in how to return to the way of Messiah. Just as John did, for He called everyone back to God’s Law.

“The word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.
And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.
Every valley shall be filled and every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough ways smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’”
(Luke 3:2-6)

Understand my friends, that if indeed we have been called of God, then our calling is not going to be different from that of John the Baptist. He called God’s people back to the Commandments of God, and so should we! For that is the way of Yehoshua Christ!

For Christ is about to make an appearance yet again, and this time He will judge. That judgment will be according to the Commandments of God. Unless we do this according to our calling, then we are responsible for the outcome.

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. (James 3:1)

I don’t know about you my friends, but I am fearful of the Lord and His judgment, so much so, that I feel a necessity to remind my brethren of their calling. We must make sure that we are not leading others according to the deception of Satan, for that lie will be our eternal demise.

Serve Him in truth!

Shalom my friends,

Do not depart this World unrepentant!

There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?
I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”
(Luke 13:1-5)

The Tower at Siloam was a Roman construction project, and when it fell eighteen were killed in its collapse. There were actually two events that He spoke of here the other was when Pilate entered the Temple and killed those who were sacrificing there. In both cases there was this tendency to say that these unexpected deaths were caused by providence, or the hand of YHVH God.

But what they were doing here by presenting the question to Messiah, is an attempt to get Him to blame the Romans, and to take side in the civil unrest in Israel.

But the answer that He gave them was not what they wanted to hear, for He spoke of dying where there is no opportunity to repent. For this is the outcome for those who had died in both cases for in both instance neither group had a chance to practice teshuva, or repentance.

So, He replies, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
(Vs 2, 3)

And then He repeats Himself, saying, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?
I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”
(Vs 4, 5)

He didn’t speak to the conflict between Romans and Jews, but instead He spoke to the need for repentance, and pointed out the fact that all of us are sinners. And because we do not know when or where, or under what circumstances, we may die. All of us need to come to repentance where we stand, even at this moment. For our next breath may take us out of this World.

The last time I attended a Sunday school the man teaching spoke of how we are forgiven when we sin, but made no mention of repentance. This is the very thing that will cause many of us to enter into eternal death, rather than life.

If repentance is that unimportant to our Bible teachers, how will we ever begin to arrive at the truth.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
(1st John 1:8-10)
