Whose bride are we?

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”

Do we call Him lord? If so, we need to understand that this alone will not get us into heaven. And Yahshua / Jesus tells us exactly why. He who does the will of my Father, YHWH God, this is who will enter the Kingdom of Elohim.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”  (Vs 21)

His words, not mine! So where does this leave us, and what exactly is the will of the Father?

God’s will is exactly what He tells us it is. And if we don’t know what he has spoken about His will, we will be left outside of the Holy City looking in at those who have kept the Commandments of God. For He delivered it to us in no uncertain terms.

1And God spoke all these words, saying:
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
13 “You shall not murder.
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

YHWH God spoke these words to the children of Israel, in the presence of Moses and the entire multitude that He brought out from under bondage in Egypt.

And if we do not fear Him, or respect the Father enough to obey Him, then surely, we will never get past his Son, Yahshua / Jesus.

For He says, “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’” (Vs 22)

It doesn’t make any difference what we think about our service to God, if we want to enter His Kingdom, then we need to know what he thinks, especially with regard to us. And if we have not adopted His wedding vows (the Covenant, or Commandments), then who’s bride, are we?

Yahshua speaks to this set of circumstances to us loud and clear, when He says, “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Vs 23)

Now these are people who have been praising his name, and casting out demons in his name, even prophesy is spoken by them, but still, they are not acceptable to Him on that last day, because of Lawlessness.

“Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.”
(Ezekiel 22:26)

We have a history of doing these things, and according to the prophet, there’s nothing new about our unfaithfulness. And perhaps this is why Yahshua speaks of how we are supposed to not only keep the Commandments, but we are to teach them from the Pulpit.

He says, “Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:19)

We owe both Yahshua and God the Father a huge debt of gratitude, for had they not come to our rescue we would still be in bondage to the enemy. And how do we know who our enemy is?

The Apostle Paul gives us His identity saying, “Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things?
And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He (the Anti-Christ) who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this reason, God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2nd Thessalonians 2:5-12)

It’s the enemy, Satan, who is whispering in our ears and telling us that we are above being lawful to God and do not have to keep His Word? Here is the lie that will keep us from entering the Kingdom of Elohim. And it the same lie that he told in the Garden of Eden.

How many times must we be told? And Our Savior Himself warns us to not take the path of lawlessness. Yet, because we love our sinful ways so much, we twist the scriptures, and invent reasons to ignore what God Himself has said.

But hear the Words of Christ when He says, “The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matthew 13:41-43)

Heed this warning, but only if we truly love Yahshua / Jesus Christ will we live to please Him and the Father.

Thus, he says, “If you love me, keep my Commandments!” (John 14:15)

Shalom My Friends,

Chuck Greever

Do we know the difference between being Dead or alive!

Matthew 13:37 “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.
39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.
40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.
41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Yehoshua teaches His disciples the meaning behind the parables but uses the parable of the sower as an example.

He had already explained to them why He teaches this way.

Matthew 13:10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”
11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.
12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, and seeing you will see and not perceive;
15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’

16 But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;
17 for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

Thus, He taught those who followed Him how to understand parables, for if we can grasp this one, then perhaps the others may not be such a challenge.

And this one is a real eye opener.

“He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.
The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.”
(Vs 37-39)

The world in its entirety is the field, and for thousands of years the seed that was sown has been producing a crop worthy of a harvest, but also like any agricultural enterprise, there are weeds to deal with, Tares! Good and evil. Wheat and Tares.

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. (John 15:16)

It is imperative that we bear fruit and produce a crop. This is how wheat, grapes, and barley, are grown. Plant a few and they make more. So, this is how evangelical believers are supposed to live in this world. God gives us a testimony so that we can bring others into the faith. We are called to be witnesses for Yehoshua, thus bringing glory to the Father, who gave us life.

But those who are of the enemy, entangle us, mislead us, and interfere with the truth of God’s word, His seed, is suffocated, and starved because of their action in the world. Truly they are weeds, and the Father identifies them as such.

Therefore, as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.
The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
(Vs 40-42)

When that fateful day comes, when Yehoshua comes to reign, He will remove those who have been sown by Satan, tares will be gathered and burned. There must be a separation and it is prophesied here as well as in other parables.

The Wailing and gnashing of teeth is what happens when the undesirable tares are separated out for destruction, there will be an angry response, and a terrible sadness, thus the crying out or wailing over their rejection. For many of the tares actually believed they belonged to Christ. But because of lawlessness, they too are not fit for the kingdom. “they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire.”

This has been clearly stated by the very one who will judge us in the last days.

Did He not say? 21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!
’ (Matthew 7:21-23)

I’m not going to argue about whether or not we are saved by the Law or not, but let me say this, if we are truly saved, then our salvation will drive us to love our Savior enough to want to Keep His Word, the Commandments of YHVH God.

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)

Of Course, if you don’t love Him, you won’t care to keep / guard His Commandments, and your dead already.

God help those who have opted to turn their backs on God’s Sabbath, His feasts, and know not the difference between what is clean and unclean.

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

Paul is a Bond Servant to Christ.

“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

Here is a promise that many have ignored.

We say that we believe but do not follow. We say that Yahshua is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, but then we follow Paul, and preach Paul, as if He is some sort of a god. And while Paul is outstanding as an apostle of Christ, and a very learned man, he is just that, a man.

But Christ is the incarnation of YHVH God on the Earth, not just a man, but the light of life in the flesh. Yet everyone will preach Paul and ignore the things Yahshua said.

Now understand, that I am not saying that Paul has missed anything, or that He does not speak in support of Christ. But what I am saying is that because of Paul’s deep knowledge, of the scriptures many of us misinterpret what Paul says.

We are the problem, not Paul!

Even though we know what Christ has said, we sometimes contradict Him with the Words of Paul as if in our understanding we miss the meaning of what Paul says. I cannot count the times that after having quoted Christ, someone will come back with, “but Paul said this, or that.” Paul is a disciple; he would never speak in contradiction of Christ, neither about what He said, or did.

For instance, when I say that Yehoshua and His disciples kept the Sabbath, and that the Father would never change the Sabbath. Therefore, there was never a reason to change God’s 4th Commandment.

And many times I have heard in reply, “So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.” (Colossians 2:16, 17)

Because we do not understand what is being said, and taking it out of context, we contradict the living Word of God. Paul is speaking to new converts from Paganism, and telling them that the Way of Christ is likely to cause criticism from their former friends who are still worshiping idols, to come at them because they no longer keep the Pagan Sabbath, or Worship on the new moon. Nor do they any longer eat unclean foods, like pork. Paul is telling them that persecution is likely, and we have turned it around to use it as a means to come against Christ and what He said or did in obedience to His Father.

Yehoshua said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

Study the words and deeds of Christ Yehoshua first, before we go any farther, let no one contradict Him in any way. For we are to bear witness on His behalf, not contradict Him.

And if we don’t know that He was a teacher of God’s Law, then we are apt to not only misunderstand Him, but teach others to also miss the mark. For we have been commissioned to teach the whole World the truth just as He delivered it to us.

But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
(Matthew 10:6-8)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

Before He comes, change is necessary.

Malachi 2:1 “And now, O priests, this commandment is for you.
2 If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to My name,” says the Lord of hosts, “I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.
3 “Behold, I will rebuke your descendants and spread refuse on your faces, the refuse of your solemn feasts; and one will take you away with it.
4 Then you shall know that I have sent this commandment to you, that My covenant with Levi may continue,” says the Lord of hosts.

5 “My covenant was with him, one of life and peace, and I gave them to him that he might fear Me; So, he feared Me and was reverent before My name.
6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and injustice was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and equity, and turned many away from iniquity.
7 “For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and people should seek the law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.
8 But you have departed from the way; You have caused many to stumble at the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of hosts.
9 “Therefore I also have made you contemptible and base before all the people, because you have not kept My ways but have shown partiality in the law.”

The Lord speaks through the prophet Malachi, and draws a line between a good minister / priest and the evil one.

First, He speaks of the role of a priest. The Priest is going to be able to bless those who come to Him. Because of the Spirit that dwells within him.

And Yahovah says, “And now, O priests, this commandment is for you.
If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to My name,” says the Lord of hosts, “I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.
(Vs 1, 2)

This ability to pray for, and to bless those in his charge, can be removed from those who do not bring glory to the name of YHVH God. And here He tells us that this will be the first thing to go, the ability to bless.

Then He speaks of how we priests are to preside over solemn ceremonies, the feasts of YHVH God, and He tells us, “Behold, I will rebuke your descendants and spread refuse on your faces, the refuse of your solemn feasts; and one will take you away with it. (Vs 3)

“I hate, I despise your feast days, and I do not savor your sacred assemblies.
Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them, nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings.
Take away from Me the noise of your songs, for I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments.”
(Amos 5:21-23)

So, both prophets, Malachi and Amos are in agreement with regard to our Idolatry, and our false worship. What we do as priests or ministers, is outside of Yehoshua Christ because of our lawlessness and our disobedience.

Then you shall know that I have sent this commandment to you, that My covenant with Levi may continue,” says the Lord of hosts.

“My covenant was with him, one of life and peace, and I gave them to him that he might fear Me; So, he feared Me and was reverent before My name. (Vs 4, 5)

The difference we see in an assembly that preaches God’s law is evident in the hearts of the people who are a part of that assembly, but I have found that a false church is dependent on getting an emotional response from its people and no one, and nothing changes, because it’s not internal change of heart, but is external to the Spirit.

And after a while it just gets old. Here is what we call a dead church!

“The law of truth was in his mouth, and injustice was not found on his lips. He walked with Me in peace and equity, and turned many away from iniquity.
“For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and people should seek the law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.”
(Vs 6-8)

Here is the Way of Christ in a nut shell. We must return to the things that Yehoshua taught, and from the Sermon on the mount forward He taught according to God’s Law the Things of YHVH God.

We need to do Bible things in Bible ways. And we must quit preaching doctrines that aren’t even found in the scriptures. But preach Biblical truth only.

“But you have departed from the way; You have caused many to stumble at the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of hosts.
“Therefore, I also have made you contemptible and base before all the people, because you have not kept My ways but have shown partiality in the law.”

I speak to those of us who have turned away from God’s Law, because that’s what we have been taught. This is a lie coming directly from Satan, and from those who belong to Him.

“Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.” (Ezekiel 22:26)

If there’s anyone hearing this, that is violating YHVH God’s 7th day Sabbath, or heard anyone say that God’s Law has been abolished, we need to know that if we remain a part of that assembly, our soul is in jeopardy. YHVH God has not forgotten even one Word that He has spoken through His prophets.

14Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
15And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
16And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
17Therefore, “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.”
18 “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
(1st Corinthians 6:14-18)

Shalom my friends,

When Love comes to rule!

Isaiah 2:2 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the YHVH God’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it.
3 Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Yah / Messiah, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Messiah / Yah from Jerusalem.
4 He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

In the last days The Lord will come to rule, and His throne will be established in the Temple at Jerusalem.

Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the YHVH God’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it. (Vs 2)

We are told by the Prophet that the heads of various nations will gravitate to the throne of YHVH God, they will flow to it, and will exalt the house of the Yah / Messiah, above all other mountains on the Earth. This place, and His presence, and power will be honored, for Yehoshua holds sway over the entire world. He will rule with an iron rod.

Revelation 2:27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’

No one will want to go against the power of the Lord, and His rule, all nations will tremble before Him.

Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’”
Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the Lord / Yahovah with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
(Psalms 2:8-11)

It is not going to be an easy time for those who have been accustomed to their own way, or the rule of evil. For living in the light of Christ / Messiah will be a complete and total turn around for them, and repentance will be the rule, not the exception.

Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Yahovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. (Vs 3)

Talk about a new life? He says Many people, not just My people, will come to the Temple mount to learn His way, His truth, and how to live life accordingly. And He will teach them Torah. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. There will be no more talk of how Christ abolished His Commandments at the cross. For the word of God will go forth and no one will be able to question it, for it will come directly from the Lord Yah, and from His throne.

Now here is what will happen as a result of coming to know YHVH God’s Law.

We will come to understand His Word and why He said, “‘You shall love the Lord / Yahoshua your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
(Matthew 22:37-40)

When the Nations learn what it means to love our fellow Man and to love God with their whole heart, there will be no more wars, no more fighting amongst ourselves.

And the prophet says, He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.” (Vs 4)

If anyone wants to fight, it will be against the Lord, and that fight has already been decided. We will live together in peace, no more Armies, no more Military, weapons will be melted down, destroyed, and there will be no more conflicts.

For the Law of the Lord /Yah does not allow for anything but to love one another, and to live in peace and harmony.

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

The Word of God begins In Genesis, and goes to Revelation.

Deuteronomy 4:2 “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”

Apparently, our Elohim does not want to have us change His Commandments, in any way. We may neither take anything away, nor add anything to them.

For instance, look at what we have done to His fourth Commandment. In it we have both taken away from it, and we have added to it.

For we are commanded thus, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
(Exodus 29:8-11)

Cancelling YHVH God’s Sabbath is taking away from it, is it not? And adding a day that God has not ordained as a Sabbath, is adding to His Commandments, I do believe.

And consider now, where that Sunday Sabbath came from. It was the practice of Pagans to gather on Sunday. And why, is explained by the fact that they worshipped the Sun god.

And at the time this was done, the Roman Catholic Church was bringing as many Pagans into the church as they could, so they added and changed several things, in order to accommodate them.

But still the scriptures repeat this warning, “When the Lord your God cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’
You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way; for every abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.
“Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.” (Deuteronomy 12:29-31)

Clearly when YHVH God repeats Himself He wants us to hear Him, and take His Word to heart, avoiding idolatry.

I have had people actually say to me that these Commandments are just for Jews. But if that was true, why are we worshipping the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of the Jews? Or are We?

If I am right, by following the scriptures, rather than the traditions of men, I know therefore, what is going to take place at the time of Judgment will be eternal death for those who have done these things, rather than the eternal life that they believe is their reward.

The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness
and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
(Matthew 13:41-43)

I am very sorry to have to be the one who has been called to bring this news, but if we had studied our Bible, it would not have been necessary. For had we studied, we would have known this from the beginning.

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2nd Timothy 2:15)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

He knows our heart.

“Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.
And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”
(Genesis 26:3-5)

In the book of Genesis, we find that YHVH God credits Abraham with having kept Commandments, and promises Isaac that He will bless him also because of his Father’s love of God.

And even before Abraham there was Noah, Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did. (Genesis 6:22)

There has always been a covenant between those who obeyed God, and those who don’t obey have always suffered, disease, wars, storms, floods, and fire. And many examples are given, as to what happens to those who come against God’s Will, and do not keep His commandments. Even exile!

“Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.” (Deuteronomy 11:26-28)

And YHVH God makes no excuses for what He does, He makes it absolutely clear that He will bless those who obey, and the rest will go through life cursed.

As many will say, Yah knows our heart, and those who are lawless, are seen as no different than any other idol worshiper.

And when we consider what idolatry is, it is no less than the worship of a false god. when we disobey YHVH God we have opted to follow some other god. we are listening to the voice of the enemy.

So, is it any wonder that Christ Yehoshua said, “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
(Matthew 7:22, 23)

Our failure to obey God, has kept us from knowing God. Therefore, we will be outside of His Kingdom, and cursed, unable to enter in!

He also said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

Understand that He knows who is committed to Him, but by the same knowledge, He knows who is not. Those who follow Him will have His presence, strong and abiding, and those who do not know Him will not keep His Word. How simple is that?

Over and over again we are reminded that there’s only one way to roll if we will walk in God’s good graces.

And again, we turn to the Son of God, to have it made plain and simple.

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
(Matthew 7:13, 14)

We’ll not get there any other way! The way has been prepared for us, and it is up to us to follow His way. We will not enter any other way.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.” (John 10:1)

There is only one way to enter the Kingdom of Elohim!

Getting to know Yehoshua, is how we come to know the truth.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Yahovah God is attracted to those who desire to know Him. And Yehoshua said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

And are we not told? Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (James 4:2) There are ways to draw near to God.

So, what would be the best way to begin to abide in Christ, and to walk with YHVH God.

For me it began when I decided to read and to know every word that Christ said. I read all of the red letters in my first Bible. I began to see that He was something more than what we were being told.

And when I prayed and asked for the truth, He told me to study the book of Deuteronomy. And here is where I began to understand that the gospel is not exactly the same as what we have been taught, and here is why there seems to be so many contradictions, and conflicts in our doctrine.

I discovered that what I was being taught, was not the truth, but was a fabrication being delivered by people who did not know Christ, and who were avoiding the truth by deception.

Why? I wondered. Apparently, they did not want to obey God! Wow! Could it be that simple? They just did not agree with God’s Word, so they looked for ways to circumvent the Word of YHVH God.

“Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.” (Ezekiel 22:26)

What is their motive, and why do they do this? They simply cannot grasp the meaning of living beyond this life. Everything is about this world, and to them there is no hereafter. Unbelief is the culprit!

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
(Hebrews 3:12-15)

So that’s what is afoot here, a turning away from the Word of God is nothing less than rebellion. We say that we love God, but have no proof, we say we’re saved but bear no fruit. We even say, we believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, but we do not do what it says.

And much of this come directly from Satan Himself, after all He told Adam and Eve that they didn’t have to obey God, and that they could eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

He is still convincing us that we don’t have to obey God, is He not? And we in our unbelief eat it up.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. (2nd Timothy 4:3, 4)

This can only lead to one thing for those itching ears. And Yehoshua tells us clearly what will happen to those of who are lawless at the time of judgment.

He said, 21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
(Matthew 7:21-23)

Practicing Lawlessness is simply an indication that we have no real connection to Yehoshua or the Father. For we have not done the least thing we need to in order to truly know Him.

“If you love Me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)

Let’s get real!

Matthew 23:2 “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.
3 Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.
4 For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
5 But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments.
6 They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,
7 greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’
8 But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren.
9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.
10 And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ.
11 But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.
12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

It is sometimes very difficult to discern the difference between what is genuine and what is false. But where Pharisees are concerned Yehoshua has them pegged.

“The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.
Therefore, whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.”
(Vs 2, 3)

When they sit in Moses seat, and read from the Torah, that you must do, because it comes from the scriptures.

But then, He tells us that we must not follow their example, and do as they do. Because they say one thing, but do another.

He goes on to say, “For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.” (Vs 4)

All of us have know people who expect more from others, than they themselves are willing to do. And the Pharisees apparently were of a mind to live as examples to others but in reality, to do things that were not exemplary.

“But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments.
They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’”
(Vs 5-7)

Here is Yehoshua’s summation of Pharisees, and how they roll. He gives us a definition of a phony, by The Messiah of Israel, and uses these men as the ultimate example.

I have had some personal experiences with modern day Pharisees who were both false teachers and phonies all in one breath. And not all of them were clergy, some were just people who thought they were something more than just saved.

“But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren.

Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.
And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ.”
(Vs 8-10)

I have admonished several men that wanted to refer to me as a father, and while I was honored in hearing that word applied to me, I had to tell them that they must not call anyone “Father” on earth. What comes from me is a gift from God, and while some of my teachings are better than some, and some are just average. I will not stand in Yehoshua’s lime light, for without His Spirit there I would be devoid of any real meaning in what I write to my friends.

Did He not say? “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

It is my prayer that this comes to pass in my life. But in summation Yehoshua says that we are called to be servants, not phonies.

And here is His description of what Is a genuine servant of God. He said, “But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Vs 11, 12)

I don’t know about those who are reading this lesson, but understand this one thing, we are exposing here what Christ says, His Word is holy, and is the same Word that spoke the world into existence, and set the stars and moon in their places.

Anyone who sets Himself above Yehoshua, is an impostor, and should be stoned, or at the very least shunned.

Be careful who you listen to, make certain they are speaking or writing via the Holy Spirit.

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.”
(John 14:23, 24)

Shalom my friends.

Without faith there can be no real ministry!

Matthew 8:19 Then a certain scribe came and said to Him, “Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.”
20 And Yehoshua / Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

Apparently, Scribes were accustomed to a much easier life than what Yehoshua and His disciples led. So, He tells Him, “Look, it’s not going to be like the life of a temple priest.”

Saying, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” (Vs 20)

We’re not told whether or not this scribe joined Yehoshua’s party or not. But he would have learned soon enough the truth of what Christ Yehoshua had said.

They walked all over Israel, slept under the stars, and ate from fields, or from fruits they found along the way. Yehoshua was very resourceful, turning a few fish and loaves into a meal for a crowd, He fed huge numbers of people.

“Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?
Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?
When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?”
(Mark 8:17-19)

They lived by faith, not by depending on the world for their needs, but the Father, sheltered them, and provided for every need.

Here is our example for ministry, we don’t need a motel, or to eat in restaurants, and we don’t need church buildings in order to bring the gospel to the people. There’s no need for amplifiers, or musical instruments, what we do need is the voice that God gave us, and the boldness to speak His Word.

We don’t need doctrine, but what draws crowds is God’s truth.

What Yehoshua is telling the young scribe, is that He will have to live by faith, accepting What the Father provides. And if He follows Yehoshua, his life will change drastically.

So, we need to ask ourselves, who would enter such a ministry? Certainly not anyone with a profit motive! And surely no one who is without the Holy Spirit and cannot have God’s ear.

A false teacher cannot enter into this kind of ministry, because there no way to make a buck. And Christ Yehoshua describes them as ones who ministers for profit.

Did He not say? “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:15, 16)

We will see them living on a level that is above the majority of their flock. Many are ruling over a church that is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, but money for outreach, or to help the poor, is in short supply.

I had a pastor tell me once that He couldn’t change His ministry to match scripture because He would lose too many people. In other words, He would lose the ability to pay the debt that the church had incurred. Money had become His God.

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew 6:24)
