Is Paul our Savior, the living Word of God?

consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. (2nd Peter 3:15, 16)

Even though the apostle Paul is as learned as he is, he is correct in so many things he says, we have to be very careful to make sure that our understanding is in alignment with what Christ Yahshua taught. For we know that Paul would never contradict His Savior.

But increasingly people rely on The Epistles of Paul, and follow His words more than they do the Living Word of God, Christ Himself.

I have had people come against Yahshua Christ’s words, and use Paul’s writings to do it. But this is what deceived people do, they grasp at straws when Christ says something that interferes with their false doctrine.

Christ must come first, if for no other reason, He is the Savior, not Paul. And He is the Word of God in the flesh.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

We were warned of what would happen, and now it has come to pass. People are sitting and learning from men and women who do not know Christ, nor are they willing to know Him intimately. But rather they seek comfort from men who teach things that are not even written into the scriptures.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
(2nd Timothy 4:3, 4)

And while I realize that I am quoting the Apostle Paul, it does not contradict Christ, who warned us of wolves in sheep’s clothing

He said, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Therefore, by their fruits you will know them.”
(Matthew 7:15-20)

We speak of discernment, but do not practice it, because so many of us are more interested in Doctrine than the truth.

And it was the same for Pharisees, they formulated Doctrine on the Basis of their own opinions, rather than the scriptures.

And this is what led Christ to say of them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”
(Mark 7:7)

If you want to come out from under the deception, then study every Word that Christ Yahshua spoke. For he laid it our very clearly for us to know the truth. And also understand that when He formed His Assembly / His Church, He did so without the New Testament, He spoke from the same scriptures that were available to all of the Temple Priests.

So, what event has taken place that led us so astray? It is spoken of in the Scriptures, but apparently, we don’t want to hear it.

The Apostle Paul said, “Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things?
And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time.
For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He (The Anti-Christ) who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this reason, God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
(2nd Thessalonians 2:5-12)

God has built into His plan a better mouse trap, so that those who do not follow Christ, will eliminate themselves by following the dictates of the Lawless one, the Anti-Christ.

Now, even though I preach from the scriptures according to the Way of Christ, I have been accused of stirring up trouble, and causing division. But understand, that If I didn’t love you, I would have never said anything about it.

I am willing to suffer your rejection, and insults, because I perhaps place more value on your life that you do.

But understand this, Christ said, “narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:14)

How do we understand this difficult way, and or how narrow it is to walk accordingly, unless we are willing to look at how he lived, and taught us to follow His example?

If following Paul is preventing us from living according the way, The Truth, and the life he exemplified then something is surely out of place, isn’t it?

Did He not say, “If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” (Matthew 19:17)

When we thirst!

John 7:37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus / Yahshua stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
40 Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, “Truly this is the Prophet.”
41 Others said, “This is the Christ / Messiah.”

The Crowd from the Synagogue began to catch on to who Yahshua is, and they began to see that he was truly from YHWH God.

He spoke to them and said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
(Vs 37, 38)

He gave me this scripture 20 years ago just to let me know where I would be going in His company, because I had come to believe in Him in a way that would not allow me to stray from His path, and I then began to seek Him in ways that I had not before.

And truly, when we come seeking to know and understand His Ways and begin to follow Him in truth, something happens to us that will not allow us to put a cap on that living Word that wells up in us.

I think that if I were to squelch the Word He gives me, then His Holy Spirit would depart, and I would wither and die.

But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. (Vs 39)

It wasn’t until His Spirit was released upon the Earth that He began to bring change among those who believed in Him.

Acts 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Here is what makes all the difference when we enter His service, and His Spirit is the driving force behind that living water as it comes rushing into our being. No amount of doctrine will help us, but what must come through will be the voice of the Holy Spirit and it cannot be anything but Truth.

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore, I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
(John 16:13-15)

I have discovered that so many people have walked away from traditional Christian Churches simply because they cannot relate to the lies and the deception that is being poured out there as doctrine.

We must begin to preach according to the truth or be left with nothing but a church full of itching ears.

For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law. (Proverbs 4:2)

And because we are preaching the truth, rather than Man’s doctrine, we begin to speak to the Spirit of others. And we will find that they have been waiting to hear God’s Word this way. Crowds will come, Hear, see, and respond in a way that we have never seen before. Because we ourselves have been transformed by His hand.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)

When we can pick up the Bible and open to any page and discern the truth of His Word, then we can be sure that the Holy Spirit is in the driver’s seat. And living water is going to be the result.

This is what brings the lost to an understanding of the very thing their soul has been thirsting for, and they will rise up and come kneeling at the altar and never leave.

And People will say from their Spirit, Therefore, many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, “Truly this is the Prophet.” And others said, “This is the Christ.” (Vs 40, 41)

When we understand this simple principal, then it is Christ who will bring revival, not me, not you, nor anyone else. But by the Spirit God who calls us out of the World, and many are waiting for that call.

Here is why so many Christians need to be saved over and over again, because they have never been washed in living water before. This is not a business, not a way to make a living, but this is how we make ourselves a living sacrifice for the sake of the Lost sheep. After all, what is more important than securing the lives of those who need to be truly saved.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)

And then, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” (Matthew 16:24)

Forgiveness through repentance.

Deuteronomy 27:14 “And the Levites shall speak with a loud voice and say to all the men of Israel:
15 ‘Cursed is the one who makes a carved or molded image, an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ “And all the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen!’
16 ‘Cursed is the one who treats his father or his mother with contempt.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
17 ‘Cursed is the one who moves his neighbor’s landmark.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
18 ‘Cursed is the one who makes the blind to wander off the road.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
19 ‘Cursed is the one who perverts the justice due the stranger, the fatherless, and widow.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
20 ‘Cursed is the one who lies with his father’s wife, because he has uncovered his father’s bed.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
21 ‘Cursed is the one who lies with any kind of animal.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
22 ‘Cursed is the one who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
23 ‘Cursed is the one who lies with his mother-in-law.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
24 ‘Cursed is the one who attacks his neighbor secretly.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
25 ‘Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to slay an innocent person.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
26 ‘Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of this law.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’”

We have chosen to either be cursed or blessed by our deeds. And here is why many of us are struggling with life in general.  We have broken the Commandments, and have turned away from the covenant agreement with Yahweh God.

This is not a threat, but a promise!

Look around at our circumstances as a nation, have we not been cursed? Both collectively, and individually, for most of us have walked contrary to God’s Torah.

‘Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of this law.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’” (Vs 26)

But on the other hand, there is a blessing for those who return to the Law / Torah. The Way of YHWH God.

Deuteronomy 28:1 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.
2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:
3 “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
4 “Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks.
5 “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
6 “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
8 “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
9 “The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.
10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.
11 And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.
12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.
14 So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

We Know when we are living under a curse or a blessing, do we not? And we know what must be done about it.  We Must repent and return to the Way of Yahshua Christ, for it is by His blood that we may repent and return to God.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. (Ephesians 1:7)

Can a Nation Repent? Yes!

As surely as he will hear the voice of a single contrite heart, He will hear the cries of a whole people.

But here is a question, what happens if the people repent, and the Government being evil, continues in its sin?

I think most of us already know. That YHWH God will enter yet again with an outstretched arm, and redeem His people, just as He did in the beginning with Egypt. Just as he did with Noah, and the flood, except this time it will be by fire.

Deuteronomy 26:8 So the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders.

Yes, He will clean house yet again.

Did Christ not say, “The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
(Matthew 13:41-43)

How many times must we be told; this time is coming!

Shalom my friends,

Torah cannot be administered without Love.

John 5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Yahshua / Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.
5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.
6 When Jesus / Yahshua saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
8 Yahshua / Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”
9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.”
11 He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’”
12 Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?”
13 But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Yahshua / Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place.
14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”

I don’t know what feast that is being referred to here but the only feasts that are required of Jews, are those ordained of YHWH God. Therefore, these are Adonai’s feast days, not the Jews. Nevertheless, Yahshua was there, and it was the Sabbath.

Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches.
In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.
For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.
(Vs 2-4)

As He passed by His attention was drawn to the porches at the pool of Bethesda. Where many sick and disabled people lay. His attention came to rest on this one man who laid cripple, and he had been that way for 38 Years.

Here was a group of people who were so desperate to be healed that they were waiting for a miracle. To be touched by an angel and to be healed of their infirmity. Trusting that an angel will come and go from this pool. But for this man no angel came.

Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.
When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
(Vs 5, 6)

The answer comes out of His focus on angels, not knowing that He was speaking to the Son of God in the flesh.  But he is about to find out that the power of YHWH God is present and willing to straighten His legs.

The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” (Vs 7)

Yahshua has the only answer he needs, so that while he is worried about getting into the pool, Yahshua says, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” (Vs 8)

Notice that he does not lay hands on Him, but simply speaks the Words to Him! The logos, the living Word of God speaks healing and heaven and earth carry out His will. And to affirm His healing he issues a command to this man who is still laying on His mat.

“And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.” (Vs 9)

So, here comes the Pharisees, “The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.” (Vs 10)

They don’t care that this man was released from 38 years of being bound up and crippled, all they care about is their control over the Sabbath, no matter how wrong they are in their views. What the Temple priests didn’t understand, was that the Torah cannot be applied without mercy or compassion for others.

A relationship with the living God of Israel requires love before any other consideration. And they either never understood that point, or had forgotten it.

Remember that Yahshua had said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’  (Mark 7:7)

They were administering the law without love.

“He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’”
12 Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?”
13But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Yahshua / Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place.
(Vs 11-13)

In their mind, Jesus Christ / Yahshua Had violated the Sabbath, but how could that be? Except that even though they knew that the Messiah had been prophesied, these so-called priests had so little faith they could not accept that he had come, and was healing people left and right even in their presence.

Now these are the same Pharisees as them who asked, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
Yahshua / Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
(Vs 36-40)

So, in theory they knew that Love is the driving force behind the Law. but they just had a problem applying it to their take on the administration of the Law / Commandments.

The Temple Jews had become Torah Nazis.

But on the other hand, Yahshua administered and taught the Commandments out of Love. He set a standard for all of us to Follow.

1st Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

The mystery of Great preaching.

John 7:14 Now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
15And the Jews marveled, saying, “How does this Man know letters, having never studied?”
16 Yahshua / Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
17 If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.
18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.
19 Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”

During the feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles) Yahshua went up to the Temple and taught. Now apparently, they were impressed with His teaching of God’s Word, because they talking among themselves, said that they couldn’t understand How He could be so adept a teacher without having been trained.

Saying, “How does this Man know letters, having never studied?” (Vs 15)

Isn’t that Interesting, that they were not able to understand that the living Word of God knew so well, the Scriptures? And taught as if he were the embodiment of God Himself.  So Yahshua knowing what they are thinking, answered their question.

He said to them, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.
He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.
Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”
(Vs 16-19)

He speaks to Man made doctrine first, explaining that truth comes from the doctrine that the Father gives.

Proverbs 4:2 For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.

He is teaching from the doctrine that His Father has given Him. And he explains that this way of teaching is available to anyone who desires to do His will. Saying, “If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine,”

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth,”
(John 14:15, 16)

It is the Spirit that brings forth the truth of God’s Word. And no matter what we have been taught by Men, this is the Word that must prevail in our Ministry.

“These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
(John 14:25)

Anyone who truly wants the Holy Spirit of God can have it, all that is necessary is our submission to Him. But apparently this is one speed bump that is hindering a lot of folks. For the majority are preaching everything but God’s law / Torah.

“He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.” (Vs 18)

Thus:

“Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:19)

I have seen so many men posting their own Image, and touting themselves as some sort of authority, when all they know is how to teach man’s doctrine. They come proudly straight from a bible school, and know nothing of the unvarnished truth of God’s Word, because that’s not what is taught to them.

A true man of God would never allow the lime light that belongs to Christ, to fall on himself. But will approach the pulpit humbly, because what is happening in His heart is Holy. And all that proceeds from this man’s lips is the Word of God as it is given by the Holy Spirit. It is not the man, but is what is living in Him. the very Spirit of Christ Yahshua. How dare we take any credit for what he does?

He said to them, “Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?” (Vs 19)

Here is what divides His Church now, The Commandments were given By Moses to the children of God, but few of us are keeping the Commandments as they were given, just like these Pharisees. It was divisive then, and is divisive now. And this unwillingness to obey God is what made the pharisees want to do away with Christ.

If we are not willing to obey Christ, isn’t this the same as nailing Him to a cross. We can accept some of what he says, but not all of it, so we will kill that which we do not agree with? How vain is that?

But those who are doing as he Commands us to do, keeping God’s commandments, they are Spirit filled, and nothing comes out of us but His Word in truth.

We need to cross over my friends, from our pride to humbly serving the living Word of God, and allow Him to do the work of ministry for us. Let nothing proceed from us but a humble obedience, and the ensuing Word of God, via his Spirit.

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Now immediately following this word comes another verse, “I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.” (Galatians 2:21)

Understand that it is the grace of God that forgives our sin when we repent. But it is by the commandments that we know what sin is. How can we continue in our sin and remain in Yahshua’s good graces? Paul is not saying that the Commandments are no longer Valid, what He is saying is that grace comes first. But then ought we not walk according to the Way, the truth, and the life He exemplified?

For the Apostle John says, “He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” (1st John 2:4)

And Paul Himself says, “Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.” (Romans 3:31)

So now we must be crucified with Yahshua, living not of ourselves, but by His Spirit. Let Him do the preaching!

Shalom my friends,
