All of it is for a purpose!

Jeremiah 1:4 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; Before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
6 Then said I: “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”
7 But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.
8 Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.
9 Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.
10 See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.”

I believe that what is true of Jerimiah is also true for you and I. That We were with Abba Father before we were born. And deep in our souls we carry the memory of that time.

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; Before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” (Vs 5)

Not all of us have the conscious memory of these times, but we do know that there’s a calling on our lives, and that we are called to be Holy, and while we may not all be a Prophet like Jeremiah, we will play a part in His coming Kingdom, and the building of it, and we will be granted the gifts that are required to do His bidding.

Then said I: “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”
But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. (Vs 6, 7)

We can deny this truth if we want, but it will continue to rise to the surface until we act on it. For God’s will cannot be denied, and it will prevail in our lives. Even as we come under attack by the Evil one.

Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.
Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. (Vs 8, 9)

We have a supernatural relationship with our creator who will lead us and guide us through this life. There is no place that we can go that He has not already prepared for us. And as He told Isaiah, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.”

He has given us the tools that we need to do what we are called to do! Our entire life has conditioned us, and educated us by experiences, that have prepared us to rise to this calling. And what is it for you? What has your Heavenly Father prepared you for?

To teach, to lead, to exhort others, or to simply be His witness, and bring forth your Testimony, so that other may be awakened.

Yahshua said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore, everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” (John 6:44, 45)

“See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.” (Vs 10)

Jeremiah’s calling was pivotal in YHWH’s plan for this world. He was powerful and wielded the Word of God before men and Kings so as to bring about change. Whatever our purpose is know that we were born to it, and our entire life was aimed at this purpose, doors were opened, and closed, in order to lead us into the Work that we were created for.

This much I can tell you, if we belong to Yahshua, we will tear down everything having to do with the enemy, and build up the Kingdom, it’s as if we cannot help ourselves and are driven to do so by the Holy Spirit.

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, (Ephesians 4:11, 12)

Some of us have already awakened to this reality, some have not. But if we have ever wondered why things have happen to us, that seemed to come out of nowhere, or things that seem to have no purpose, now you know why. Even those things that have brought grief are purposed toward this end.

It is because our memory of coming into this world is dim, that we have to search for our purpose. It is the Spirit that brings it to light. And even those of us who are heavily involved in our work for the Kingdom of Elohim, have doubts from time to time. But we will find out in due time that it was all part of the plan. There are no accidents in our lives, all of it is for a purpose!

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

With our whole heart, we Love Yahshua.

Luke 18:10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.
12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’
13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Clearly, we are never able to say that we have arrived at a place where we no longer need to repent in all humility. For none of us have reached that place yet, and it is only by the grace of Yahshua Christ, the Messiah, that we can stand before our Elohim a finished work.

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.
I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’” (Vs 10-12)

Here Yahshua gives us an example of just what He means in this. He compares the righteousness of a Pharisee to that of a hated Tax collector.

He goes on to say, “And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Vs 13-14)

In essence our Savior is telling us that there is mercy, and grace towards those who realize that the have fallen short of the mark. But this doesn’t work for those who boast of their righteousness, and present themselves as a completed work to God.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Yahshua / Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Yahshua / Jesus. (Romans 3:23-26)

All righteousness is attributed to Yahshua, by whom it is that we may say that we are justified. Only by the blood that He shed on the cross.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. (1st John 1:8-10)

We can never forget that we are justified by His sacrifice, and that alone. The keeping of God’s Law does not save anyone.

For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Yahshua / Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Why then do we Keep God’s commandments, if not for salvation? Because God gave them to His people that they should obey Him from the beginning. His instructions / Commandments are there for our own good as a roadmap to good works. We keep them not for Salvation but because we Love God with all of our heart, and desire to serve Him with all of our strength.

Yahshua explained this to us saying, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

We strive to obey God’s Word because of Love, not for Salvation.

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

This is simply the way we must live, in order to show that we are born of God, and we do so out of love for Yahshua Christ who also kept the Torah / Commandments as an example to us.

And who among us does not know that He lived to please the Father out of Love?

It’s just not that Hard to do, walking in the instructions of the Father is easy, as John says, “His commandments are not burdensome.”

So why do we resist, except that we have not completely surrendered our will to His?

He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. (1st John 2:4-6)

So, I say to those of you who deliberately violate the Commandments of God while depending on His Mercy and His grace. Perhaps we should draw a little closer to Him, and Keep His Sabbath, and His feast days, so that He knows that’s it’s him we love, and not ourselves.

We are told that we must, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)

How then do we draw near? By our submission to His will, demonstrating that we are truly His, and belong to no other. So Yes, we are saved by grace, but because we are saved, we obey God with our whole heart.

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

Payday is coming!

James 2:8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well;
9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.
13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Remember that Yahshua said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40)

Here we find that all of the commandments are encompassed by these two. So, if we commit murder, or adultery, which one of these two commandments have we broken?

It would seem that we did not love our neighbor as ourselves, if we have murdered, Amen?

If we bow down to idols, like money, or property, or a Christmas tree, have we loved God with all of our being? And if we violate His Ordained Sabbath day, is that because we love Him with all of our Heart? I think not, but instead we have shown the Creator our distain for Him. Surely, if we have transgressed one commandment, we are indeed guilty of all.

If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.  (Vs 8-11)

We need to understand the repercussions of violating God’s Royal Law! Having failed to love Him, or love our neighbor, will result in a judgment that will keep us from entering His Kingdom.

The Apostle John tells us citing Yahshua, “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. (Revelation 22:12-15)

He is saying that there’s a reward that is going to accompany the judgment of Yahshua Christ, that will be based on our works. He will come in a flash and that judgment will be upon us, and there will be no more time for repentance!

He says that those who have kept the Commandments of God will be invited to enter the Holy City, but those who have transgressed, will be kept out of the Kingdom of Heaven.

We are making a statement before a just and Holy God, when we break His Commandments, that we neither love Him, nor others. And because we are self-centered, we have made it evident that we belong together with “dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.”

What lie is it that we have loved and believed?

Why it is the same lie that Satan has been telling us since Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden. That lie says, that we do not have to obey God. Have we loved that lie? And have we believed Satan? Absolutely!

We have done as we pleased, and ignored what God has said. We have led a lifetime of sin, because we didn’t take the Word of God seriously, and practiced Lawlessness.

Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. (1 John 3:4)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

Now He’s coming, and judgment is coming with Him. it will be upon us before we know it, and are we prepared to receive our King? Most of us are not!

He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. (Revelation 19:13)

That blood, is the blood of those who have transgressed His Law.

Yah help us to repent and change before this takes place.

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

Come out from among them.

Luke 17: 20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation;
21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

22 Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
23 And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them.
24 For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.
25 But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

We are in our generation seeking after the Kingdom of Heaven, are we not? But Yahshua tells us that we must not look for it outside of what is in our own heart.

He tells us, “nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Vs 21)

There has been a time for many of us who believe in and follow Yahshua, that we will long for Him, and wish that we could have been present when He walked among men, and we will cry out for Him to come again.

Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them.” (Vs 22, 23)

Here He warns against the False Christ, many will come in His name, but we will find that they will have no idea of who or what Yahshua really is.

Just as He warned us before saying, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:15, 16)

“For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.” (Vs 24)

He is coming again, but when He comes this time it will happen quickly, like a flash of lightening, He will be here, and His justice will take place immediately.

He tells His disciples yet again, “But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.” (Vs 25)

It was necessary that first he must be rejected and suffer at the hands of His enemy before this second coming can happen, in other words, the Lawless one had to be totally revealed before He comes. This is being accomplished now. Everyone knows that those who are preaching lawlessness, and their followers are the same ones that persecuted Christ Yahshua, and have in their hearts the Spirit of the Anti-Christ.

So, before He comes this will be abundantly clear, and the fruit of their deception is lawlessness.

Remember what he said, “You will know them by their fruits.” (Matthew 7:16)

“And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.” (Vs 26, 27)

Now that they have been fully exposed and refusing to repent their end will come quickly. Just as in the days of Noah, justice will be done quickly!

Likewise, as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. (Vs 28-30)

These are the words of Christ Yahshua, the same Messiah that was nailed to a tree for the sake of our salvation. He is warning us to distance our selves from those who are preaching that the Law of God has been abandoned since the cross. These people are the living dead and their time is coming to a quick and deadly end when Christ comes.

Recognizing the fruit of the Sons of Perdition is key to escaping the wrath of God.

14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
17 Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.”
18 “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

Come out from among them, and live.

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

Now is the time to repair our Relationship!

Acts 2:36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Yahshua / Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”
38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Yahshua / Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

Everything We need to know about how the original Assembly was formed, and how they conducted themselves, is right here. Peter assigned the fault and the shame of what was done to the Messiah to the Whole House of Israel.

“Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Yahshua / Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”  (Vs 36, 37)

When people find that they have sinned before God, what should be the first thing to think or say, but what should we do? How can we repair our relationship to God?

Repentance is our only option, and the question, what shall we do? This question, opens the door to their restoration.

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Yahshua / Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Vs 38)

Israel needed to repent, and to be washed clean from their sin, so that they could be forgiven. Remember the last words of Christ as He was on the cross. “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” (Luke 23:34) Here is where they were forgiven, as they returned to the Father.

For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”
Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. (Vs 39-41)

Calling Israel to repentance was the first order of business when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the day of Pentecost / Shavout. While thousands came to receive Yahshua and repent, millions did not. And to this day The House of Israel is divided this way.

While Israel for the most part remains unrepentant, many do believe and have received Messiah. So that when destruction comes there will be a remnant that will be spared and escape God’s wrath.  But sadly, in both this nation and Israel, most will perish in those days, and the saved will witness it.

Matthew 24:40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left.
41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.
42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what £hour your Lord is coming.
43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.
44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

This is not evidence of a rapture, but is the gathering of the tares to be burnt! Those who are saved will remain, but the Lawless and the evil doers will be taken in that day and burned.

Matthew 13:49 “So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, 50 and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

Shema, O Israel. Your repentance is required, after these promised events take place, there will be no grace for those who have not come to their knees for mercy before their King and Messiah. If we will be forgiven for our sins we must do so now, not later.

There are entire nations, and Israel included, that will all but disappear. At the hand of the same Messiah, whom we crucified. He comes for His own, and not for those who have yet to bend a knee and ask to be forgiven.

Yahshua said, “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3)

Now is the time for turning back!

Romans 13:11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now, our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

Crown of thorns among cross, hammer with nails as crucifixion symbols

Walking in the Way of Yahshua Messiah!

Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Have you ever heard this scripture preached from the Pulpit in your church? I sort of doubt it, and here’s why. We would have to know and explain what the narrow gate is, and preach it that way as well. We would also have to examine the way we are going, to see if that can be defined as narrow, wouldn’t we?

So, it’s not taught because we practice lawlessness!

Psalms 119:1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord!

The way is defined for us as walking according to the Law of the Lord. The Way, the Truth, and the life.

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”

The will of God is that we walk accord to the Word of God, the Law, or His Commandments. That is the very definition of His Word!

Yahshua said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.” (John 10:7)

Here is our narrow Door or Gate. If we say that we follow Christ and do not follow His example of keeping the Commandments of God, we are walking outside of His way, we are on the broad path, not His Way.

John 10:9 “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”

There it is again, He not only preached the Commandments of God, He kept them. So that we would know the way of the Lord. He openly preached that this is how we find the correct way to the Kingdom of Elohim.

Matthew 7:14 “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

How many ways are there? Only one, and He has written this way on our hearts.

Jeremiah 31:33 “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”

And this is repeated in the book of Hebrews, Hebrews 10: 15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,

16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds, I will write them,”

17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

We cannot continue to violate God’s Commandments. His Sabbath, rejecting His appointed times, and continue the keeping of the traditions and practices of Idol worshiper’s, and expecting that continuing sin to lead us to Heaven. It just cannot happen that way! For that is simply not the way of Christ.

1st John 2:4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Perhaps now we can begin to see the Way of Christ, the Messiah, a little more clearly. So that we can make the adjustments we need to make, in order to follow in His footsteps.

Repentance, or a desire to change comes first. Then we can ask to be forgiven. And once we have departed from our Lawlessness, and entered into His ways, let’s allow let the Holy Spirit guide us into lawfulness.

Did he not say? “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. (John 14:15-17)

It’s a lot easier to Keep the Commandments if we have a helper, a teacher, and a comforter, Amen?

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

This Lawlessness shall not stand!

Judges 2:11 Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals;
12 and they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked the Lord to anger.
13 They forsook the Lord and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.
14 And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. So, He delivered them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them; and He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.
15 Wherever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for calamity, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn to them. And they were greatly distressed.
16 Nevertheless, the Lord raised up judges who delivered them out of the hand of those who plundered them.
17 Yet they would not listen to their judges, but they played the harlot with other gods, and bowed down to them. They turned quickly from the way in which their fathers walked, in obeying the commandments of the Lord; they did not do so.
18 And when the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and harassed them.
19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they reverted and behaved more corruptly than their fathers, by following other gods, to serve them and bow down to them. They did not cease from their own doings nor from their stubborn way.
20 Then the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and He said, “Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not heeded My voice,
21 I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died,
22 so that through them I may test Israel, whether they will keep the ways of the Lord, to walk in them as their fathers kept them, or not.”
23 Therefore the Lord left those nations, without driving them out immediately; nor did He deliver them into the hand of Joshua.

While Joshua lived Israel kept the Covenant that they had entered into with YHWH but Joshua died at one hundred and ten years of age.

So, when Joshua had passed on, Israel began to worship other god’s, bowing down to idols they did exactly what they were warned to not do.

Deuteronomy 12:29 “When the Lord your God cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land,
30 take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’
31 You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way; for every abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.
32 “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.

They were warned repeatedly, yet they were driven to worship idols, for some odd reason. It just seems to be the nature of all men to want to worship something more tangible, even if it cannot give life.

Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals;
(Vs 11-15)

If we want to make our Elohim angry then this would be the optimal way to do it. Ba’al Worship is so offensive to Him as to cause His wrath, and he will strike out at us.

1st John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

Idolatry my friends is darkness.

(Vs 16-18)

Isn’t it amazing how we cry out to God in the hour of our distress, but we do not do what will bring peace with Him? Repentance and a return to His ways is what is required of us when these things come to pass.

(Vs 19-23)

We must understand that in this day and time, God has done the same to us, as He did to Israel. We were given an opportunity to depart from our whoring, and to put away our idolatry, but we have not listened, nor have we repented. Still, even though He has raised up those who have warned us to return to the Covenant He made with us, we continue to call on false gods. And refuse to come out of our deception.

So, now we have been given over to the forces of darkness, the Lawless one sits in the Oval Office, and His minions occupy both houses of government. There is a plague that has extended to cover the entire world. The evil forces of the Anti-Christ have openly manifested itself in our world. The time of God’s pity has gone, and we in our ignorance do not seek the cure in the Word of God.

We must return to His Commandments, and many of us have done so, returning to the Hebrew roots of our faith and keeping Torah / God’s ordinances. But so many other’s have refused to bow down to the Lord God of Israel, preferring to follow Roman Catholic doctrine instead. The very thing that brought us to this point to begin with.

Perhaps when it get’s bad enough, and when they come for us and our families, maybe then we will repent, and return to the Ancient Path and the way of Christ?

1st John 2:4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Yahshua kept the Torah / God’s Law as an example to be followed, and taught it to us at every turn, but 2000 years later we have abandoned His ways, to keep the traditions of men? This lawlessness shall not stand!

Repent now, and return to Messiah!

My doctrine is not mine!

John 7:16 “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
17 If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.
18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.
19 Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”

The Jews were wanting to kill Yahshua Christ, and questioning His knowledge of God’s Word they said,

“How does this Man know letters, having never studied?” (John 7:15) They just could not grasp the fact that He was of the Father and the Father spoke through Him.

Yahshua explains, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. (Vs 16)

It is as if the Spirit of God is completely in control of Yahshua, delivering the Word of God, and of course those who have not the Spirit cannot grasp it.

John 14:17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

This same Spirit comes and resides in those who love God and desire to please Him.

“If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.” (Vs 17)

Anything else is not of God, but of questionable origin. We must not seek to glorify ourselves in what we do or say, but that God may be glorified in all that we are, and all that we do. This is the function of His Holy Spirit!

“He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.” (Vs 18)

Surely this is what Messiah did! He glorified the Father at every turn, and every time he was tested this is what came out of Him. Honor and Glory to God the Father!

“Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?” (Vs 19)

The Pharisees boast of Moses, and proclaim themselves to be the keepers of God’s Law, but as Christ pointed out to them many times, they were in error. What they kept were man made traditions, not God’s Statutes, and ordinances.

Here is why He said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.
7 And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.” (Mark 7:6-8)

They follow the Talmud, rather than submit to the commandments of God according to the scriptures.

In the days of Moses, there was no Talmud, only the Scriptures, and this is what Yahshua said, “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” (John 5:45, 46)

There are men and women today who are doing the same thing as those Pharisees who persecuted Yahshua in those days, they too Have doctrine that is not of God, and following the traditions of men, they do not keep His Word. Many of them think that they are serving God, but their heart is far from Him, and the same thing Christ the Messiah said to the Pharisees over 2000 years ago can be said to them. “And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” (Mark 7:7)

There is only one way that these may be redeemed, and that is to discard their false man-made doctrine and begin to search out the truth of God’s word. But the Holy Spirit is required in order to do this.

No amount of man-made education can give us the Holy Spirit. But a sincere desire to serve and obey God is what brings the Spirit of Truth roaring into our lives.

Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
14 And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

It was, and always will be the deeds of uneducated men who will bring Glory to God, and not be limited by the traditions of men. Our education awaits us, when we follow God’s Word, and discard the traditions of men!

Proverbs 4:2 For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law.

God Fights, but not without you.

Joshua 6:20 So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
21 And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, ox and sheep and donkey, with the edge of the sword.

The Children were given the promised Land, Yes! But they had to fight for it! Every walled City had to be taken by force.

But why did they have to fight and kill, and why did David have to slay Goliath, and why did they have to battle to keep Israel? Why didn’t they just stay home, and let God do it.

Because sitting on their butts doesn’t require the same kind of Faith. The Lord also fought. And they had victory after victory because they obeyed God, and followed His instructions.

At Jericho when they blew the trumpets and made a great shout unto the Lord, the walls keeping them out simply fell flat, and they went in and killed them all, even their animals, leaving no living thing behind.

Every City they came to, they fought until they conquered the promised land, and then it was theirs. What God gave them they still had to fight for. And even after they came into the land, they had to fight Army after Army off, to keep it. And Yahweh Elohim went with them. The Assyrians, the Philistines, etc. but this kept them attentive to their relationship with God.

They found out the hard way that practicing Idolatry was a recipe for defeat on the battlefield. Because when a man disobeyed God’s commandment, several men died.

Thus, was the battle for Ai, So, about three thousand men went up there from the people, but they fled before the men of Ai.
5 And the men of Ai struck down about thirty-six men, for they chased them from before the gate as far as Shebarim, and struck them down on the descent; therefore, the hearts of the people melted and became like water. (Joshua 7:4, 5)

Thirty six men lost their lives, and Yahweh spoke to Joshua and told Him why they suffered this defeat.

10 So the Lord said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face?
11 Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff.
12 Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you. (Joshua 7:10-12)

Israel had sinned! Who had done this horrible thing that cost the lives of 36 men?

They Discovered that Achan did this and he confessed it.

20 And Achan answered Joshua and said, “Indeed I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel, and this is what I have done:
21 When I saw among the spoils a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. And there they are, hidden in the earth in the midst of my tent, with the silver under it.” (Joshua 7:20, 21)

Now comes the punishment! Joshua knows that He cannot allow this to remain under his command. Yahweh told Him to cleanse Israel of it. And that is what comes next!

24 Then Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, the silver, the garment, the wedge of gold, his sons, his daughters, his oxen, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent, and all that he had, and they brought them to the Valley of Achor.
25 And Joshua said, “Why have you troubled us? The Lord will trouble you this day.” So all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire after they had stoned them with stones.
26 Then they raised over him a great heap of stones, still there to this day. So, the Lord turned from the fierceness of His anger. Therefore, the name of that place has been called the Valley of Achor to this day. (Joshua 7:24-26)

God will not allow evil in His camp! Otherwise, He will depart. Destroying that one person and all vestiges of him, his entire family, livestock, etc. removed the thing that caused God to withdraw from the battle. Now they could continue to fight with Yahweh at their side.

There are several good lessons in this one scenario.

  1. We cannot prevail without God on our side.
  2. If we must fight, then we must obey God.
  3. Just because God is on our side, doesn’t mean that we don’t have to fight.
  4. All that God gives us must be taken from godless people, and protected from the same enemy!

So, do we still think we can just be spectators in this life, or do we fight? And do we have Yahweh Elohim on our side? Clearly, we’ll not win our land back without Yahweh.

There’s more to the gospel than meets the eye!

Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.
9 And they made His grave with the wicked—but with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
11 He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

I sometimes wonder how so many Jews reject Christ when Isaiah wrote about Him and described Him and His sojourn on Earth so beautifully. He said that He was despised, and unrecognized, by His own people.

I wonder how that is even possible, when Isaiah wrote this more that 700 years before the Messiah was born into this world. I know that the Children of Israel know the Torah, and the Prophet’s, but it seems that they somehow that missed this teaching From the greatest of the Prophet’s, Isaiah.

He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. (Vs 3)

Apparently, we thought that it was God alone who had done this to His own Son. And denied that we humans had any involvement in His execution. Yet we cried out Crucify Him, Crucify Him!

Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. (Vs 4)

It was our sin that drove Him to the cross, and our fear of Him that caused us to reject Him so harshly.

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

This whole story is beyond belief yet it is true, that even those whom He had come to redeem would be the very ones who would wound Him. Yet still, He took it for our sakes, so that we could be restored to our Elohim. He was beaten, scourged, and because He suffered this, we are healed. The wounds we suffered as God rejected the Ten Tribes of Israel and scattered them abroad, could now be repaired and now there will be a return to Him, because of this great sacrifice.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.
He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people, He was stricken.
And they made His grave with the wicked—but with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. (Vs 6-9)

The practice of Idolatry brought YHWH to the point of wrath and anger, toward Israel, and He divorced them, and scattered them all over the world. And God’s own Law prohibits a man to remarry a wife who has lain with another man.

YHWH while He wanted to heal the rift, and bring Israel back from Her lawlessness, could not bring Her back into His household. So, He had to improvise, He would be born as a man and die and be resurrected into a new man in order to receive them back, restored to His household.

Here is why Yahshua said, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:9, 10)

And why He said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (Matthew 15:24)

This was His mission from before He was borne, and while we cried crucify Him, he carried out the will of the Father without so much as a whimper.

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.
Therefore, I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. (Vs 10-12)

Idolatry Separated us, but when we return to Him, we shall be restored to true worship, in Spirit and in truth. No longer will we bow down to Ba’al or Mithra, and no more will we engage in Pagan Idol worship, or traditions. But we will worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and no other. …….. Now we are set free from our sin, and there is no longer a burden of sin to keep us in bondage to the former things.

2nd Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

For many of us, there’s more to the gospel than we have been told.
