Judgment anticipated.

Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
38 See! Your house is left to you desolate;
39 for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

After having cried out a rebuke to the Pharisees that has taken up most of Chapter 23, He ends with this condemnation.

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!” (Vs 37)

They were given the opportunity time and time again, to accept Messiah but each and every time they turned away, and would not listen. And now He is pronouncing judgment on them and creating a line of departure between them and their priesthood.

He says, “See! Your house is left to you desolate; “  (Vs 38)

Indeed, it is desolate, they no longer have the authority, no longer is there a temple, and no longer do they function as one, but are fraught with conflict, and contradiction. Some have come to Christ, and some never will.

While most Jews claim that Messiah has never come, it will be interesting to see what will take place when He does arrive and validates His judgment? Will he hear their apologies? I doubt it!

“for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’” (Vs 39)

They had missed the opportunity to say such when He was in their midst. Because of pride, jealousy, and obvious unbelief. As have many of us done they same, we have the Word of God to guide us, so that we will know who He is when He comes, yet many of us will miss His arrival simply because we don’t know Him.

And how will we greet Him when He comes? What will be our attitude toward Him? Will we take His Word when He asks, why haven’t you kept My Commandments, or taught my commandments to others?

This judgment will not only fall on those who have rejected Him, but it will come to those who call on His Holy name as well, but have rejected His Law.

Here again He has warned us, but we have rejected His Word, and those whom He has sent to warn us, simply because our doctrine does not allow for His Word, the truth to take precedence.

Remember what He said, “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:22, 23)

So judgment will not only come to those who have denied Christ the Messiah, but will also come to rest on those who have not loved Him enough to obey Him.

If you love Me, keep my Commandments, (John 14:15)

So, while He judges the Pharisees, He will also judge modern day Pharisees who have taught other to disobey the word of God.

So, I say, Come Yahshua, Come!

My God is almighty!

Exodus 34:1 And the Lord said to Moses, “Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke.
2 So be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself to Me there on the top of the mountain.
3 And no man shall come up with you, and let no man be seen throughout all the mountain; let neither flocks nor herds feed before that mountain.”
4 So he cut two tablets of stone like the first ones. Then Moses rose early in the morning and went up Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him; and he took in his hand the two tablets of stone.
5 Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.
6 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,
7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”
8 So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.
9 Then he said, “If now I have found grace in Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us, even though we are a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance.”
10 And He said: “Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you. 11 Observe what I command you this day. Behold, I am driving out from before you the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite.

After the golden calf incidence and Moses had destroyed the first two Stone tablets, and He prepared to returned to Adonai.

And the Lord said to Moses, “Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke.” (Vs 1)

Adonai tells Moses that He must come up the mountain again in the morning to receive yet again the written Law from the hand of Adonai.

“So be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself to Me there on the top of the mountain.
And no man shall come up with you, and let no man be seen throughout all the mountain; let neither flocks nor herds feed before that mountain.”
(Vs 2, 3)

Here is yet again an image of how special Moses is in Adonai’s sight. No on is allowed to be on that mountain but Him and His Elohim. No one else would dare approach Him.

So he (Moses) cut two tablets of stone like the first ones.
(Vs 4-7)

Most people know God, but only as an object. A thing that can give us anything we want, And when He stops blessing us, what happens then? We begin to be our own God.

But Moses knew Him as a friend, and they spoke as friends. A because this Lord was not the Father, I believe it can be no other than the living Word of God, Yehoshua as Adonai.

For Yehoshua spoke of Moses, He said, For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.
But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
(John 5:46, 47)

Moses went to His knees before Adonai, So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.
Then he said, “If now I have found grace in Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us, even though we are a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance.”
(Vs 8, 9)

Asking for mercy, and grace, ought to be a part of every prayer, for Moses knew He was not perfect, nor were those whom He dad helped to bring out from Egypt.

A stiff-necked people indeed, He prays for a pardon of their sin, but He claims it as our sin. But what is so beautiful about His prayer However, is His petition to take us as His inheritance.

Yes us, for our portion is with the children of Israel. And those who waited for Him at the base of the Mountain were no different from us. And we too are also wandering in a wilderness, and looking yet again for that promised land. This is very much our story and we will see the redemption of Elohim in the end, for He is coming for His own.

And He said: “Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.
(Vs 10)

So here, Adonai confirms His covenant with them to set them above every other nation on the Earth. And yes, it is awesome what He does, and what He will do.

“Observe what I command you this day. Behold, I am driving out from before you the Amorite and the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite.” (Vs 11)

As an extension of His Covenant, He promises to drive out before us any godless people in the way of His promise land to the Children of Israel. But guess who will have to bear Arms and fight with God at their back, they cannot lose, but they will have to fight. And exercising their faith they will kill God’s enemies. (See The book of Joshua)

Here’s a lesson for all who believe on the Elohim of Israel. Amen?

My God is a lion, and a warrior!

Discipleship requires preparation!

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
13 But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

This prayer is Yehoshua petitioning YHVH God, the Father, to watch over and protect the men that will serve as His disciples. He has kept them safe thus far, in the name of the Father, so that none are lost except Judas.

“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.” (Vs 12)

It’s as if He’s saying that He was sacrificed, so that scripture could be fulfilled.

“But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.” (Vs 13)

Here we have the Manifestation of the Living Word of YHVH God speaking into the World those things that he would have manifest. That His joy would come to rest on these men, His disciples. That they would find happiness in the knowledge that they are serving God. And that they will fulfill their calling secure in this knowledge. They know that everlasting life outweighs all other concerns and is a cause for great joy!

Consider this, by the time Yehoshua will ascend into Heaven, they will have witnessed the resurrection first hand. For they will see Christ killed, only to return to them three days later in His resurrected body.

“I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.” (Vs 14)

He has given them power, the Word. And they are living in a place where there is constant danger because of who and what they know. These men are not of this world, they are like Christ and will do the things that Christ did and more.

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
(John 14:12-14)

His disciples will operate in the power of Yehoshua, and because He is with the Father, He will make it so! All they have to do, is do it in His name, Glorifying God.

“I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”
(Vs 15, 16)

They must remain on Earth, because there is much work to be done. Some He prays for their protection. For they will be living in opposition to their environment. They like us, are living in enmity, and even though they made many disciples, one by one they were all killed because of their witness. Except for John who lived many years in exile. Not that the enemy didn’t try to kill Him, they boiled Him in oil, but it failed to do the job. So, they sent Him to the Isle of Patmos to live out the rest of His days.

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.”
(Vs 17-19)

Here is what makes us an effective disciple of Christ the Messiah, The truth is visited upon us by the Spirit of Christ Himself. Here is how we are sanctified and made holy. We are sanctified by the truth, not by doctrine, and not by the traditions of men.

“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.”
(John 15:26, 27)

And when we know and speak God’s Word in truth, understanding the whole of scripture, then we can say that we have achieved our calling and will also face the same fate as the original disciples, the Apostles of God.

Did Christ not say, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.”
(John 15:18-20)

So now is the time to decide, are we, or are we not, His witnesses?

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’
(Luke 14:26-30)

Consider whether or not we have been sanctified and truly set apart from the world. Consider also what Yehoshua has called you to and embrace it, even if it causes your physical death.

Are you ready?

Shalom my friends,

More than an empty reflection.

James 1:22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

James, the brother of Christ Yahshua, tells us that the Law of God must be carried out in our lives, and that we must do more than just know the Law, but perform it also. For if we are not doers of God’s Word then we are proving that we are deceived by men.

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (Vs 22)

Then He draws a parallel, to illustrate the meaning of our deception.

He says, “For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.” (Vs 23, 24)

Imagine seeing our likeness reflected in a mirror. What are we seeing, but Just the outward appearance? But is that really who we are? Certainly not! It’s just a refection of a man. But our real identity is in the life we lead, because it is evidence of what we are made of.

A man who lives according to the Law as Yehoshua taught it, will Love His neighbor as himself, and Love Christ Yehoshua, and the Father with their whole heart. The inner man will be holy, and walk accordingly. And it is what is inside that becomes manifest in the World.

Deuteronomy 4:5 “Surely I have taught you statutes and judgments, just as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should act according to them in the land which you go to possess.
6 Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’
7 “For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?
8 And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law which I set before you this day?

When Israel received the Law, and entered the Promised Land, the same transformation took place with an entire nation, as with an individual. They became a great and powerful nation of individuals who walked in wisdom and righteousness. This happened simply because they applied what YHVH God instructs in His Law. This is what Torah means, instructions by which we live.

YHVH God manifested Among His children, as they became obedient and Walked in the light.

For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life, (Proverbs 6:23)

This is exactly what Christ Yehoshua called us back to, keeping His Commandments Torah.

He said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

Here is what brings that change that makes us more than just a reflection. Here is where the inner man begins to shine, by walking in wisdom, and righteousness.

But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. (Vs 25)

It’s incredible the difference between walking according to the Word of God and walking according to deception and lies. It is the difference between blessings and curses.

“Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known. (Deuteronomy 11:26-28)

Let’s be blessed.

Messiah’s birth according to God’s Word

Luke 2:4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,
5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.
6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.
10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.”
16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.
17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.
18 And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.
20 Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
21 And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called Yehoshua/Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.

Most likely during the Feast of Tabernacles/Sukkot We find Joseph and Mary travelling to Bethlehem because of the census. This would have been during the month of September which is normally the time of Sukkot, and 8-day celebration to commemorate the days when the people of Israel lived in tents and walked in the wilderness following Adonai’s column of smoke. They were Tabernacling with YHVH.

That’s the time and the purpose of the annual event according to the Commandments of YHVH God.

Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.
So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.
And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
(Vs 4-7)

A manger is an English word for stall or crib, it was the practice for the Israelites to put up a shelter, called a sukkah, and they invited friends or passersby, to stay or share a meal in it. it is possible that’s what this is, a sukkah.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.
Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
(Vs 8-14)

There were Shepherds in the hills around Bethlehem which indicates to me that it would not have been December. Winter comes to Israel and it gets really cold there in December, and sometimes there’s snow in the hills. No shepherds would be in the fields during winter, but would take their flocks home to shelter.

Again, it is most likely during late fall and during the time of Sukkot when Yehoshua was born. But nevertheless, It had to be an awesome occasion, for Mary, and for Joseph. But also, for these simple shepherds, who witnessed a visitation of angels, who praised God because the Messiah had come.

The Angels said, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” And in a few years, Yehoshua will glorify God as never before, and His ministry will be all about peace and good will toward all of mankind. This what should be celebrated dur the time of His entrance into this life. At Sukkot / the feast of Tabernacles. For it is during this time that He will take a bride, and tabernacle with men. And when we keep this time of Sukkot, we are not only celebrating His birth, but His return yet again to claim what is His, and to rule for a thousand years on Earth.

So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.”
(Vs 15-21)

So, shepherds became the very first to bear the gospel to others when Messiah was born, for it was indeed good news for all of Israel and beyond, the whole world would get a reprieve because of this very good news. HallaluYAH!

So yes, we should celebrate His arrival on the Earth. With one admonition. Di this according to God’s instructions, not according to Pagan traditions or the traditions of men.

But then most of us aren’t aware that Christmas is a pagan celebration called Saturnalia, that was in place over a thousand years before Christ was born, and was Baal’s birthday. And also, the birth date of several other Pagan deities, like Tammuz, Mithra, and Molech, just mention a few.

So, it stands to reason that Pagans would lump the Messiah of Israel in with these other idols, or does it? But that’s just what Pagan’s do!

But we have been instructed by God to not have anything to do with idols.

In summation, let’s part ways with idol worshipers. Keeping the Appointed times that we were given according to the Scriptures. There are Seven of them, and all of them must be understood, and rehearsed, because they are to help us to cope with coming prophetic events. Even His appearance at the second coming, and the day of judgment.

He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is careless of his ways will die. (Proverbs 19:16)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

A call to repent and return.

Deuteronomy 30:15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil,
16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.
17 But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them,
18 I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess.
19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which
the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

YHVH God Has warned us repeatedly against turning away from Him, after coming to Him for deliverance. We belong to Him!

When we came to this continent, as we sailed from our former homes we prayed that we would arrive safely, then when we landed, we prayed for success in getting established here. And when we expanded westward, and struggled and fought to tame this land, we prayed for success. And YHVH God gave us success.

This land was built on prayers that were answered, in the name of Christ.

Now that we have what we prayed for, we think we no longer need God, but God will show us why that’s not true, and certainly not Biblical.

“See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.
But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess.
(Vs 15-18)

We have chosen to worship the same God as Israel, and that is evident in that we have adopted the same scriptures.

But for some odd reason we feel that we are separate from those who keep His Commandments. So while we used to preach and teach the Ten commandments, we now ignore them. Yet we think whenever we want something we can pray for it. But now we are finding that this is not so.

God is not an ATM, and not going to be used that way. So, many of us are going to die until we understand that we must return and obey Him, that is if we will abide in Him. Until then, we are going to see our freedom snatched away, and we will be put into bondage. and that is already happening, in case you haven’t noticed.

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” (Vs 18, 19)

This land came to us the same way as Israel’s Promised Land, YHVH God made it possible, and blessed us as we prayed to Him in the name of Christ Yehoshua / Jesus. But now we think we are gods, and believe that we ourselves have built this country. Therefore, we no longer need God, we think.

This self-worship (Idolatry) will come to and end when we humble ourselves and return to our creator. And while we are waiting for this to happen, we will be humbled to the point that we will yet again cry out to our Savior and redeemer to save us yet again from our oppressors.

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.
(2nd Chronicles 7:14, 15)

When we do this, He will come and set us back on the path to righteousness and it’s rewards.

Shalom my friends, make teshuva (repentance) today!

1st John 2:24 Therefore, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.
25 And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.
26 These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.
27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
28 And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

Here is the solution to a major problem. Abiding in Christ is where we need to be, because there are so many who are not there yet.

Therefore, let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. (Vs 24)

But do we even begin to understand what it means to abide in Him?

Encyclopedias – International Standard Bible Encyclopedia – Abide

ABIDE: Old English word signifying progressively to “await,” “remain,” “lodge,” “sojourn,” “dwell,” “continue,” “endure”; represented richly in Old Testament (King James Version) by 12 Hebrew and in New Testament by as many Greek words. In the Revised Version (British and American) displaced often by words meaning “to sojourn,” “dwell,” “encamp.” The Hebrew and Greek originals in most frequent use are yashabh, “to dwell”; meno, “to remain.”

To walk with Yehoshua, is to abide with Him, just as His disciples went everywhere with Him, and did what He said. They not only believed, they followed and loved Him to death.

So, claiming Christ as our Savior is not enough. Anyone can make such claims, but the proof of it is in our love, and the way we live.

Thus, He says, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)

Or, He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)

And, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
24He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.
(John 14:23, 24)

Therefore, love is the catalyst and the precursor to abiding in Christ and this is why Christ asked Peter. “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” (John 21:16) Three times He asked, undoing Peter’s denial of Christ three times.

Loving Him is going to drive us to carry out His mission on this earth.

And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life. (Vs 25) How could we not love Him who gave Himself so the we could have life eternal?

Yet we have chosen to believe those who contradict the very Word of God, by preaching Paul and twisting His words, rather than preaching Christ in truth.

This telegraphs our ignorance of Christ Yehoshua, and what He said and did on this earth. Leaving many of us outside of the kingdom, rather than abiding in Christ we have chosen to follow the Lawless one (Anti-Christ).

These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you.
But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
(Vs 26, 27)

We have a teacher that is given by the Spirit of God. And the more we love and follow Yehoshua, the deeper the relationship, the more His presence, and His teaching comes to us. it is that presence of the Spirit of truth, and our teacher, that keeps us from accepting the lies of those who twist the scriptures to their own liking.

It is the anointing of the Holy Spirit that draws a line between those who will obey the Commandments, and those who refuse. (See John 14:15-17)

And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.
(Vs 28, 29)

The Apostle John, has a clarity that is second to none, when it comes to revealing the truth that Christ Yehoshua brought to light in His Apostles. He calls us back to abiding in Christ, that we may not have to make excuses at the time of His return to this Earth, nor be ashamed of our deeds before Him.

He tells us that we must practice righteousness, and that this is how know that we have been born of Him. This nonsense of claiming that because He is Righteous, we don’t have to be, is a strong indication that we have believed the lies of the Anti-Christ. And have parted ways with Christ Yehoshua.

Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. (1st John 3:7)

You can always tell who is walking in righteousness, because of their love for others.

Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another
,not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous. (1st John 3:10-12)

Shalom my friends,

Are we prepared for God’s Judgment?

1st Peter 4:17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

18 Now, “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”
19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

The Apostle Peter is saying the time is come for judgment in the house of God. And that His Judgment is ongoing. So, while there’s a final Judgment, still we are tested and judged according to the Commandments, for all are included in the Gospel.

Here is why Yehoshua said, “‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:23)

Therefore, Peter asks, “and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?” (Vs 17)

So, what’s to obey if it’s all love and grace? Could it be that we have been lied to by those who preach a sugar-coated gospel? Of course, we have and Christ warned us of these so-called false prophets and teachers who do this for profit, and do not care if we live or die.

He said, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” (Matthew 7:15)

Many of us are being ministered to by people who would leave their ministry as soon as they lose their fat salary and 401 k, not to mention their insurance.

The Apostle John says, “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”
(1st John 2:3-6)

This makes me wonder why He would say something like this, unless the commandments are included in the gospel.

But then we know that Christ is our example, and could not be anyone’s savior unless He kept The Father’s instruction to a tee. For he could not be unlawful on any count and be a fit sacrifice for our sins. Therefore, we must walk after His example.

Peter adds, “Now, “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?”
Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.”
(Vs 18, 19)

If a righteous man is barely saved, what will happen to us? Especially those who shun the Law and lean on the grace of Christ.

Have we forgotten what he has said to us? He said, “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:20)

We must not let our pride and our itching ears keep us from hearing His word, and obeying it. Otherwise, everything He did during His ministry is wasted on hardened hearts and deaf ears.

Christ said, And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. (Matthew 24:12, 13)

Do not let that silver tongued Devil, talk us out of obeying God’s instructions, for if we do succumb to His lies, there is no do over.

2nd Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Let us not run after God’s Condemnation, but humble ourselves to obey His Commandments, and walk according to righteousness. Thus, we deliver ourselves from the Lawless one, the Anti-Christ, by the truth of God’s holy Word.

The Carrot will draw you away from Christ!

Revelation 21:6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

In the end there will be only two kinds of people, those who can enter the Kingdom, and those who can’t. There will be those who will live and those who will die.

“He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” (Vs 7)

Yehoshua is looking for those who have loved Him enough to forego the things of this world, and have placed their trust in Him. They have overcome the world! They know that everything in it is a fabrication created by men. It temps, tests, and changes, but Yehoshua does not change. He is a constant and in Him we find life eternal. But on the other hand. the world cannot offer anything but death.

Anyone who has lived on this earth knows that no matter what we do here, it will always be terminal and always be challenged. Riches, jobs, health, even family is conditioned by the Lord of this World. And we continually look for success, because it is held out like a carrot on a stick. But for those who belong to Yehoshua that carrot becomes less and less important.

But our inheritance is far beyond what can be found on Earth, eternal life in a place that sparkles with His light, where praising YHVH is a way of life, where there is no concern for the time of day, or night. To live without a struggle. This is literally a return to Eden, and more.

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Vs 8)

But He begins by giving life to those who come seeking. Pouring out living water to those who thirst for truth.

And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.” (Vs 6)

He is the giver of life, and has been from the very beginning, and will be until the end. He in other words, is eternal, and it is in this eternal place that we will find our home, and the only security we will ever know.

Did He not say,“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
(John 14:1-4)

And as He said afterward, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

How do we choose the path to heaven, and how do we overcome?

We make a deliberate choice to follow His example, and His teaching.

Abiding in Him.

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. (1st John 2:6)

So, when we abide in Christ Yahshua here is what happens. Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
 (1st John 5:1-4)

This is the way to eternal life.

We won’t talk much about those who cannot manage a life of following Christ Yehoshua. They’re dead anyway, but perhaps a few of them will turn from that reprobate life, before it’s too late.

He is coming, and so many of us have not done what is needed before that time. We are to be His witnesses, and the testimony he has given us must not lay dormant.

The gift of truth!

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me;
10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;
11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore, I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

It is so difficult to say goodbye to dear friends and family, and this is what Yehoshua is doing, saying His farewells to those He loves. But also, He makes them a promise as He goes.

He says, Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.” (Vs 7)

This is very much like what He said earlier. When He said, “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
(John 14:17, 18)

While they have difficulty understanding that He will die and be resurrected, He comforts them with the promise that they will not be abandoned / orphaned.

And there’s more, And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” (Vs 8-11)

The Holy Spirit’s mission statement is right here. He will bring conviction upon the whole world, and if we are to come under conviction of our sin, for many of us this is our first introduction to the Rauch HaKodesh, The Holy Spirit. He was there with us and we didn’t even know it.

He will point out our sin, and bring us into righteousness, and we will begin to see from His point of view as we begin to grow accustomed to having a Spirit of holiness about us. He becomes our conscience, and leads us to do and to speak what is right in Yah’s eyes.

He, the Spirit of Yah, is the catalyst for changing us into that obedient Child of God, that we will become.

“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
(Vs 12, 13)

He realizing that they are having difficulty dealing with His farewell will not speak further about it. but will give them something to ponder, the gift of His Truth. He Speaks now of the Spirit as the bearer of all truth. That He will guide us, and lead us into knowing, speaking, and living, His truth. And whatever The Rauch hears from Heaven, that is what He speaks to us.

Here also is the Spirit of Prophecy. For as Yehoshua says, “He will tell you things to come.”

“He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore, I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”
(Vs 14, 15)

Because the source of the Holy Spirit is the heart and Mind of Yehoshua, He gives us the very words that we share every morning as we Take from His Word and declare it to you, my friends.

And today it is my great pleasure to reveal to you how this message is given. Yehoshua’s Spirit selected the scripture, and spoke the words, as I typed. I simply passed on to you what the Holy Spirit is telling me. And Yehoshua is glorified in what He is saying today.

This is His gift to you, so that we might grow in our understanding of how He works in our lives. He is neither dead, nor out of reach, Yehoshua is present with us through His Spirit always, and the better we get at hearing Him, and obeying, the closer He comes.

Shema Yisrael!

Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
(James 4:7, 8)

Shalom my friends,

Chuck Greever

Arise, Let us go from here.

John 14:23 “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.
25 “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.
29 “And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.
30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.
31 But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here.

The entirety of Chapter 14 is about our relationship with Yehoshua, and the Father. And finally Yehoshua tells us that following Christ is keeping His Word. And the keeping of His Word is the Law of YHVH God.

When we submit to this, we will not only keep the Ten Commandments, but we will keep all that the Father said. We will honor His Sabbath, honor the 7 feast days, and avoid things He declared to be unclean.

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me
.” (Vs 23, 24)

So, what does this mean to us? it simply means, that the Father has a litmus test to determine who belongs to Yehoshua, and who doesn’t.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
I and My Father are one.”
(John 10:27-30)

Thus, we have eliminated ourselves from the possibility of seeing His salvation, because we did not love the Savior enough to follow Him. How can we possibly be a part of His flock if we do not follow after Him?

But for those who are following Yehoshua and observing His example, they will do as He does, because they follow the Shepherd.

“These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
(Vs 25, 26)

When we keep His commandments, the Holy Spirit comes to indwell us. thus, by His Spirit we continue to learn, and to be guided by His influence.

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
(John 14:15-17)

That indwelling Spirit comes roaring into the lives of those who love Yehoshua enough to follow Him, keeping His instructions, just as He kept His Father’s Word.

“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” (John 15:6)

To refuse His invitation to abide (stay) with Him, is to invite destruction at the hands of His angels. For turning away is equal to following the Lawless one, the Anti-Christ.

But if we abide in Him, then we will have His peace, and a strong confidence in Him because we have His Sprit.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.
“And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.
(Vs 27-29)

Yehoshua is saying goodbye to His friends, but that He will still abide with them via His Holy Spirit.

“A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.
At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
(John 14:19-21)

Yehoshua cannot bear to leave them, but He must, and promises that He will come to them in the Spirit, abiding with them.

“I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.
But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here.”
(Vs 30, 31)

He has said everything that must be said, He has reminded them yet again, that He will die and rise again in 3 days. And that the devil is coming, but that liar has been defeated and is not to be feared.

But He wants to be sure that the whole world knows that by His example, He has loved the Father, and has done all that the Father requires just as a faithful son would do. (“as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do.”)

How could He ask us to do anything that He was not willing to do Himself, follow Him just as He follows the Father and kept His Word, we must do the same.

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. (1st John 2:6)
